A few superior things at Bedrock: the freshly-baked, hot
A few superior things at Bedrock: the freshly-baked, hot mini pita bread served with roasted garlic; the sinful but delicious bone marrow; and the very friendly and efficient service staff. Good variety of steak cuts (in my opinion, the best are the signature Bedrock black pepper steak and the cap steak, both rib eyes). The problem is they are not as flavourful or as professionally cooked as at premier steakhouses, like Cut, Wolfgang, Morton, or Bistecca. The only reason I go here is because of the various Entertainer discounts.
Be the first to ReplyThe best meal I had in Singapore.
Excellent wine for a reasonable price, fantastic French onion soup, and damn good steak. Service was great and can't beat the outdoor ambiance right in a bustling outdoor mall on Orchard Road.

Came across this restaurant through the Entertainer app and couldn't pass up a 1 for 1 deal. Being a steak connoisseur myself, I had to try out this place and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I ordered the Grainfeed USDA Ribeye 350g with Truffle mash potato and broccolini. The meat itself was tender and juicy however just a little bit on the salty side. Furthermore their happy hour gives you a 1 for 1 on the house wine and other cocktails as well. It is a bit on the pricey side an expect to spend about average 125 per person. However with the entertainer app you can almost cut it by half. This is listed in one of the top 3 steak places in Singapore. Others being Lawrys and Ruth Chris.

We were apprehensive heading into this steakhouse after reading previous reviews. However, we had a really good time. Service was stellar. Food was good, all of our guests enjoyed their steak tremendously. Steaks were well prepared and flavourful. Sides were on point -- we had mac&cheese, rocket salad, and loaded sweet potatoes. Can't comment on wine list (brought our own, corkage $50SGD) and dessert (too full). Will be back!

Thought I was going to a comfort food place but it turned out to be a fancy restaurant that sells good steaks rather than "quick" food. We ordered the porterhouse with asparagus and broccoli on the side. The porterhouse was really good and the portion is good for two people. We went with the mustard sauce which went well with the steak. We almost got the truffle fries as a side but the portion of it was huge. Unless you are three people I don't recommend going for the fries due to the size of it unless you are ok with throwing food away or eating a lot of fries which can't be good for you.

Oysters were satisfying and very meaty. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Portions are generous especially if you go all out at the beginning with the yummy bread, butter and roasted garlic.
Be the first to ReplyCheap-ish steak, yes.
Flavorful cuts, no. This was likely the first meal I've had in SG that wasn't salty. Maybe my tastebuds were blown out that day, but I couldn't taste any flavor. The Mac and cheese delivered, but the aged tbone steak failed. Wine by the glass was sub par as well, kinda like the wine you'd expect at TGI Friday's. Personally, if I was going to spend $70pp on a steak dinner, I would opt to spend $90 to be satisfied. Three stars because their menu has aged steak and they took us as a walk in guest.

If you're looking for good steak then i recommend not coming here. Service was poor as they broke two wine glasses (staff) and dropped a piece of bread while serving, and the food not only came 30 mins after we ordered but steak also came out lukewarm and not sizzling hot as a steakhouse should. It was a bone in porterhouse we ordered, the more expensive steak cut (mind you it was $180) but to a meat eater this was just a terrible piece of meat that shouldn't be served to a guest who's paying that much for a steak. The fillet mignon side is supposed to be soft and easy to cut and the strip side was also just so difficult to cut and chew. I much prefer Luke's oyster bar and grill if you're looking for good steak. Save yourself from bad calories, service and steak by doing yourself this favor and skipping this restaurant completely.
Be the first to ReplyVery decent steak.
Had a USA Tenderloin for me and Irish Ribeye for my wife. The steak is very juicy and make the whiskey mustard sauce is very good.Cocktail selection is so-so.Desert is overprice. I dont even try any of the desert. The place ambience is very cozy with open kitchen concept.Had a booking on friday, got a reservation on sunday. Make sure you book in advanced. Sit inside the restaurant. They have arousn twelves table insisde. Do not sit outside.
Be the first to ReplyReally bummed about this place.
After all the rave recommendations (and the high prices) I expected to finally have a decent steak in Singapore. But for $90 a steak, I expect it to be aged properly, cooked to how I ordered, and with good flavour. None of those things happened. I'm astounded that a place that is meant to be known for steak only has one item on its menu which is dry-aged. Please go and visit Rockpool in Australia. It has options ranging from 28 day all the way up to 90 day aged steaks. It has its own aging room and all meats are hung and aged on-site. It was more rare than medium rare, and I had trouble cutting through it even with the sharp steak knife. It totally lacked any flavour, except for one that resembled burnt gas / oil. On the plus side, the sides were very nice for the most part. Truffle fries were well cooked.....however I struggled to detect any truffle flavour. PS Cafe has better truffle fries I think. The Mac n cheese was very good, as were the beef tallow potatoes, though I would've liked them to be less soggy. Overall? $550 for 4 of us (with 2 glasses of wine) was massively steep for a pretty average meal. Thankfully we used the Entertainer which made it more palatable, but otherwise it wouldn't be worth visiting.
