Basbussa is an excellent choice to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, and just an accomplishment. Great ambiance and the food is very creative. The service was very friendly and warm.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was okay compared to how it was last year in 2023.
The options were better and the environment/entertainment was better as well. If you are not kosher this might not be the place for you. Since they've converted to a kosher restaurant the food options are very little and very pricey. The service is good but if you are not kosher I really don't recommend this place for you.
Be the first to ReplyGreta food and great vibes.
Music playing, good drinks, and tasty. Check them out for dinner
Be the first to ReplyIf I could, I'd rate this experience a zero.
After dinner, my friends (two men and two women, 1 who is five months pregnant) and I stopped by for a quick drink. We noticed two open seats at the bar. I asked a nearby female if they were taken, and she said no, so we took them while our husbands stood behind us. Almost immediately, a man confronted us about taking the seats. We explained they were unoccupied, but he then oddly requested to speak with the husbands outside. It turned out he was the owner and had decided to kick us out for sitting in his preferred spot, forcing us all to leave. As someone with experience in hospitality and as a co-owner of fast food restaurants (The Flame Broiler), I found the owner's behavior towards customers astonishing. We were simply looking for a place to enjoy a drink post-dinner and were willing to stand, but being kicked over available seating was absurd. This is no way to conduct business, especially in a reputable area. He didn't just lose customers; he lost our respect.
Be the first to ReplyLove the vibes, the decor and the food.
Not to forget the drinks were delicious. The chicken strips and cauliflower my favorite. When the cauliflower appetizers hit my taste buds tasted like orange chicken. Our server was excellent. Kosher friendly.

Best spot in LA for celebrating and enjoying good music and fun food Basbussa is the place to have fun and enjoy company
Be the first to ReplyTo start off, service was great.
Our server was very kind and attentive. I was a little disappointed by their new menu and new restaurant concept. We were not allowed to cut a cake we brought because it was not kosher. They removed a lot of staple items I used to love like the biscoff cheesecake, Challa bread, Nutella cheesecake. There weren't any belly dancers and we were there from 7:45-10. Also no DJ. I believe it is Israeli owned now. It used to have a lot more of an authentic Arab/Moroccan feel to it.

The food was hit or miss, the music was loud and the prices are insanely expensive. Hard to carry convo with the loud music so definitely don't come here on a first date . The food items I DO RECOMMEND are the spicy chicken tenders and the crispy cauliflower . I would never order any of the sushi or desserts . The desserts were so disappointing and the sushi was not high quality. The waitress recommended the banana s'mores and it sounded amazing but all 8 of us thought it was SO GROSS. I've never had a dessert I disliked as much as the banana s'mores . It tasted like cardboard . The malabi was also not that good. I also disliked the warm artichokes . It was a weird tasting salad and you cannot really tell there was any artichoke in it . The fatush salad was solid though . No complaints there . For that price I would definitely consider pricing somewhere else
Be the first to ReplyOk here's my honest review.
I've been here plenty of times with my husband. The place is really nice. First things first they DO require reservations. They accept walk ins but prioritize their reservations. Which makes sense. On their busy days which from what I recall are Thursdays and Saturdays they let people know in advance that the tables are a 2 hour limit. Which we didn't mind so I don't understand why some people in the reviews are complaining about being rushed? It's stated before being seated. If you're late and your time is cut short that is no one's fault but yourself. They do give a 15 min grace period. After that your reservation gets cancelled. I learned the hard way and my husband and I ended up dining at the bar. Which again, we didn't mind because we had been here a couple times before. Food is amazing. I love how constantly they update their menu. I believe that it's not common to find a fancy Kosher restaurant so as a community we need to be respectful/grateful that an establishment has provided us with this option to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, etc. with a luxurious feel to it. As any restaurant has there are rules that need to be respected. Listen to the staff as they will tell you how they run their place. What is and isn't allowed in the restaurant. What is required for reservations. What's in their food. How their process for the food is...let's just all be respectful and not entitled. Basbussa, you're doing an amazing job and I will keep coming back. Fatoush SaladMediterraneanSticky DateTuna TartareBig GroupLamb Chops

this place has great food the vibes are unmatched for a nice little date night and or out with friends. Kimbella the host was super sweet when she greeted us and Pedro was also very nice and helpful.
Be the first to ReplyI came here last week and I had the best time with my boys.
We celebrated a bachelor party. The food was great. The star of the night was Kim the Hostess. She was so nice and made us all feel accommodated. Her vibe made us all want to order their famous airplanes. Her and Pedro our server are the reason we will be back. The music was great too! Good for celebrations!
Be the first to ReplyOkay so 4 stars it is.
I really enjoyed this restaurant. The service was great when we got seated. So were the drinks and food. However, I do need to remove 1 star cuz I made reservations on open table. I did read the note to call and confirm the reservation on Thursday's and Saturday's. So I did that and all was confirmed. I didn't think I'd have any issues. When I got to the restaurant they told me they're fully booked and they don't have a table for us. Luckily the owner was so nice he managed to get something for us within 15 minutes. Everything just worked out after that. Thank you basbussa for the great night, it was a lot of fun. If you plan to reserve on Saturday night, I suggest you call the restaurant and NOT, ABSOLUTELY NOT! rely on open table. Your table is not secured through open table :)Cheers yelpers!

I was in a group of a party for my friends birthday, and I told the waiter to charge my card 150. I had three glasses of wine and each person of the group was supposed to pay 80 each. The waiter ended up charging my card 250 and he refuses to give me my money back. I am shocked the unprofessionalism, and at this point its stealing. He didn't give me a receipt, so I only seen my bank statement the next day.
Be the first to ReplyAn embarrassment of an establishment.
Spent over $1000 and had the worst experience. We called out the owner for watering down the bottle of vodka that we ordered (for $350) which was proven to be true by multiple people. And he got into my friends face and almost hit her then proceeded to attempt to kick us out for having a simple conversation. Negative zero customer service and near abusive to a table of seven customers. Traumatized by this experience and how the owner treated me and my friends, got in my friends face and almost hit her. Safe to say we will never be coming back here again or recommending it.

Was super excited to try this place out and invited 6 of my girlfriends out with me. Unfortunately this place turned out to be a complete fraud. We ordered a bottle of Belvedere, and each of us took multiple shots and felt absolutely nothing. It was all watered down, and the bottle is $350, probably the cost of this bottle is approx $15 as half of it is water. Also the bottle came open... Would not recommend ever coming here for drinks

We went there in November for the first time for my birthday and it was amazing! Different dancers, the dj was phenomenal, food was great. Took a couple of friends after raving about it for so long and I have to say it was like we were at a completely different restaurant. One belly dancer, almost empty place and food was okay. The vibe has changed completely and we were really disappointed. Will not be returning
Be the first to ReplyI had the pleasure of celebrating my friend's 30th birthday
I had the pleasure of celebrating my friend's 30th birthday at Basbussa Restaurant last night and it was an absolute treat! The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant were both fantastic - the lighting was just right and the music playing in the background and dancers created a lovely ambiance. But let's talk about the food - it was simply amazing. Its Mediterranean dishes are bursting with flavor! My personal favorites were the cheese borek, Cesar salad, cauliflower with yogurt, hummus with pita bread, and branzino fish. The lychee cocktails were divine! To top it all off, the service was excellent. Our server Z was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. I couldn't have asked for a better dining experience and I will definitely be coming back to Basbussa Restaurant in the future.

So let me just say this: what a waste of money that place is! Anyone who's used to middle eastern restaurants and food will tell you one thing: it is all about generous portions and quality of the food. This place has the most ridiculous prices for the most basic items! 15$ for a plate of olives! The same for some labneh ... you'd think you'd get a pound for this price! The hookahs are overly prices and only last for 25 minutes before shutting off as they are electronic... the music was outdated... the food seemed to be frozen food they reheat before bringing to your table ... honestly this place was a disgrace to middle eastern food culture and waaay out price. We were a group of 10 celebrating a birthday and ended up with a 1700$ bill but had to go get food afterwards as we left hungry! I give it just one star in honor of the waiters who were friendly. Besides that, worst belly dancer show I've ever seen... never stepping foot there again!
Be the first to ReplyWe were very disappointed at the way we're treated.
Very hostile towards us unwarranted.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible place, worst service.
Went in with plenty of space available and rude lady walked in and didn't allow us in with an extremely hostile attitude stating it was full. Not worth your time.
Be the first to ReplyVery rude bouncers and hostess.
Horrible customer service. wouldn't recommend. Would recommend going to Euphoria much better service and vibe.
Be the first to ReplyFound out about this place from Instagram a while ago and
Found out about this place from Instagram a while ago and decided to celebrate a birthday there with a party of 10ppl, there were a minimum of $100 per person which was fine, we checked out the menu before hands knowing how much the food costs, we knew it was pricey and the food was actually good but over priced forthe amount served, which is normal in LA nowadays. Our server was really nice but service in general was a bit on the slow side, took a while for our server to get our drinks order but after that he managed to focus on us more. Classy and elegant crowd and everyone around us had smiles on their faces everyone having a good time, my personal issue was that the music was way too loud. Our table was right under a speaker and we could barley listen or talk to each other, music was great though so good job to the DJ, but way too loud, thats where I noticed that this place is more of a party/dance place rather then a restaurant. There was no dance floor so everyone was dancing at their table making it a bit hard to walk around cause all walking access between tables were blocked and had to say excuse me every time I took a step. Food was ok there was some dishes that were really good and some just ok, no serving spoons or tongs and we ordered a bunch of appetizers so we had to use our own utensils. Drinks were ok there house specialty drinks were good but for margaritas wasn't that good. Valet was available and plenty of street parking so thats not to worry about. Overall okay place for some it might be really good but for me not really but had the chance to try it.
