A true time capsule
Love this page. So much history in New York gets lost very quickly and places like this remind you of New York in a different time. In this area especially this is a little time capsule of an old neighborhood that is long gone. Great old school New York Italian food. A great places for groups. It’s my birthday spot.

Fantastic old school traditional Italian. The food is amazing and they have very tasty moscato on the menu which I would recommend. The restaurant has been around forever and I love that some things don’t change.

This NY institution serves solid old-school "red sauce" Italian food. Stepping into this joint in the heart of Williamsburg is like stepping into a time machine and transporting back into a vintage Martin Scorsese film. It does not appear that the decor has been touched since the 50s or 60s (down to the vintage cigarette machine in the bar area). The food was good, but the service and atmosphere were reason enough to check this place out. We enjoyed the baked clams to start. Winning entrees were the pork chop parm and the homemade ravioli in red sauce (more like small pillows filled with delicious cheese). The tiramisu and chocolate mousse were the best thing we ate - real standouts. The service was first class all the way (friendly and professional). Our waiter, Silvio, regaled us with stories about his 40+ years of service at Bamonte's, while efficiently attending to our needs. It's not cheap, but you cannot buy this type of experience at many places anymore. Definitely worth the pilgrimige to this venerated Italian mecca.

Four of us went here for dinner at the end Jan 2020. It is a genuine italian restaurant in Brooklyn and had a really great meal here.A truly authentic Italian restaurant.
I will be back here on my next visit to NY in a few months.
Great food and great company what more can one ask for!
Wonderful Italian
We went with a big group who ordered a million appetizers, so we tried a lot. My 3 favorites were the eggplant rolatini, and both types of baked clams. The baked clams with prosciutto was insanely good. Also highly recommend the baked Branzino. Tiramisu was delicious as was the chocolate ice cream dessert. Service was excellent and the ambiance is great. Definitely a great local place. They also haven’t updated it so the decor is wonderful. Wonderful authentic Italian restaurant.

I go to Bamonte's every time I'm in NY, because I feel at home together with my family in NY. Food always fresh and good, cooked with care and love. Staff very welcoming and helpful. I love their clams on half shell, the mussels, eggplants rollatino and the stuffed mushrooms, delicious!

Fun old school Italian. The service was great and the food was better. It’s a throwback but what the heck, a lot if fun!

We went for our anniversary-eve!!! Service was superb (very old school!). Very nice (and reasonable) wine list. The burratta appetizer was amazing, rigatoni with vodka sauce, and the shrimp/scallops with sautéed spinach was super! Then the cappuccino and best-ever tiramisu, perfect evening!!!

The restaurant was fine the food tasted good. The food is traditional Italian food from 100 years ago. Italy itself has moved on to more modern italian food. Everybody says the portions are big. They are not big they are small and if you are not careful you will leave hungry! The service was good but the serving sizes we not big.I ordered the veal Sorentino and it was served on a small plate with just the veal on it. Nothing else. They gave us one small plate of boiled potatoes and one plate of boiled green beans for 12 people. Again the food tasted good and we ate it all but kind of left hungry. The bill was $1200.00. We would come back but with lower expectations.
