On the eve of Saturday March 11th 2023 my wife, sister and I had one of the most welcoming, hospitable and gastronomically satisfying experience at Badmash Los Angeles. We made reservations after searching for great Indian restaurant in Los Angeles. We read great reviews about Badmash. Earlier in the week I has suffered an ancle injury of which I was still recovering from. I was close to canceling and staying home. In spite of the pain, we decided to go anyway. It was a wise choice to do so, otherwise this little review wouldn't have been written. The restaurant had these really cool old Indian films playing on the wall towards the ceiling in order to not distract but to show cool old Bollywood film snippets. The music was modern and had a really nice vibe. I could already see from the guests inside that it was a diverse group of people who were truly enjoying the Indian classics a al Badmaash. From the kitchen I noticed plates carried out with crispy fried Samosas and what looked like to be a traditional Canadian dish (poutine). I could smell the delicious wafts of spices used in the Guan pork curry, the cardamom in the chai, what a feast!Right next to a pilar and next to the kitchen I noticed a young gentleman wearing a cool hat and sun glasses at a table. I thought it was just another guest but he seemed to be aware of all the guests and what was happening all around. At my table my walker rested against that my leg and I accidentally kicked it to the ground. The gentleman got up as asked if he can set it aside until the end of our meal and later he would ensure that one of the waiters would get it for me. So I enquired: "are you the owner?" humbly he replied he was one of the owners. My name is Nakul he said with a great smile on his face. He spent a good 10 minutes talking to us at our table. Every question we asked he was willing to answer. How long has your restaurant been here? Poutine is Canadian? Did you ever live there? What's that delicious tanginess in the pork curry? (He said it was secret recipe of grandmas pickled mangos). We talked about the amazing Indian nation and its mesmerizing cuisine from some of the regions we were all fond of. Suffice to say we felt we broke bread that night with this cool restaurant owner Mr. Nakul Mahendro!! First time ever met him, but we felt so, so welcomed to come back. So there in lies the experience, yes the food was DELICIOS, but the host was down to earth, gracious and kind!Ahh by the way we must reveal this secret, aka a testament to this restaurant owners desire to a gracious host. Nakul ordered our desserts, which included 3 "eye rolling to the back of the head delectable chai lattes" on him, then left!!!What?? He left??? We didn't get a chance to thank him!!!! So, we (myself my wife and sister) decided to write this little thank you note!!Thank you, Nakul, so much we had an amazing evening we won't forget!! Nakul... you're too cool!!! Thanks again. Mike
