Having recently moved to Seattle, we’ve been taking every opportunity to try new restaurants in the Seattle area. Artusi is located at the corner of 14th St and Pine in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. It’s a small Italian restaurant that offers limited, but extremely delicious options, with an amazing Pasta night menu. Two pastas and a bottle of wine for $35! It’s a really great deal and Artusi’s pasta dishes are so good, top it off with a bottle of wine, it’s a win all around! Pasta night is only offered on Sunday and Monday starting at 5pm. Make sure to arrive early as they fill up quick on Pasta night (we arrived one Sunday at 5:15 and the restaurant was already full).
I forgot to take a picture of the menu, but you can find it on the Artusi website (menu here). There are three pasta options, plus a rotating special pasta (pasta options include: cavatelli, potato gnocchi, and risotto, the night I went, the special was meatball ravioli). As mentioned above we came for Pasta night on a Sunday (arriving at 5:15 and the restaurant was already full). We opted to sit at the Chef’s table to skip having to wait 90 mins for a table. The Chef’s table offered a great view of the meal preparation and service. Pictured above is one of the Chef’s cranking out various pasta dishes for that nights guests.
While, I’ve been raving about Artusi’s pasta night, the rest of their menu is just as delicious. Pictured above is the Chop salad served at Artusi the flavor is so simple, but yet so delicious. Throughout the salad you get bites of salami and provolone which keeps you wanting more. This is a great starter before digging into the pastas dishes. The arancini balls are also of note, very flavorful and served with a huckleberry sauce which complements the arancini so well! You really can’t go wrong with any of the starters at Artusi.
Lastly and most important, the pasta at Artusi is sooo good, you can’t go wrong with any of the choices. The cavatelli is one of my favorites, but they’re all so flavorful I enjoy them all equally! If you have a large enough group, I’d encourage you try and share all the pastas, you won’t regret it! The only downside I’ll mention about Pasta night… The portions are very small. If you plan to make this your meal, I’d encourage to get some other starters to supplement or the pasta makes for a light meal. Artusi makes all of their pasta in house, they have a sister restaurant Spinasse, which makes all the pasta (see picture above of pasta drying). Spinasse offers a more extensive menu and is just as delicious, be sure to check out our review of Spinasse too!
