Unique experience
the ambiance left a bit to be desired for a 3 michelin star restaurant, but considering that the food was 11/10 it was an easy think to overlook, the service was exactly what you expect from a michelin star restaurant ( in other words, it was great). A took the lunch menu, it had an excellent variety of different foods of the season and the flavour was there in all of them. highly recommend. The glasses of wine were quite expensive but i loved the ones i choosed
Be the first to ReplyHigh prices worth every single €…. Twice in a lifetime experience :-)
First return visit since 1999 - when the chef owner served 3-star Michelin meat & fish dishes. Now the same chef offers predominantly vegetable-based menu with a couple of extraordinary meat-fish dishes towards the end of the meal… think Scallop mousse with black truffle & chestnuts, Dover Sole grilled whole with citrus & sorrel or Lamb + Pigeon sewn together and coal-roasted… unique and exceptional in every way. Lunch menu was about 12 courses + extra little pre-lunch bites and fantastic mignardises. To recap still a 3-star experience worthy of every single accolade and associated price, with warm, welcoming, friendly and highly professional service. Price for. Very good lunch with excellent beverages €800 for 2

We went to L'Arpège on the 29th Nov for lunch, this is our first time to visit L'Arpège, so the staff suggested us to try the tasting menu, it will be primarily served with vegetables and filled with surprising dishes. We appreciated this is vegan-inspired menu. The ingredients is very simple and inexpensive. The dishes are also fairly mediocre, every dishes taste like the same there is not much differnaitiom in term of cooking techniques. Pumpkin soup and radish with rice are disrespectful for guest expecting from a three-star restaurant. There have been repeat use of the same ingredients, for instance , the beetroot and the pumpkin. The waitress told us there would be seafood, what we got is only 3 clams meanwhile we saw the other table ordering the same menu is served with clayfish. Given the reputation of three Michelin starred spots, we have expected so much more at the end of the day it is a 200 euro tasting menu. We left the restaurant with disappointment. Fortunately we had also visiting other stared restaurants in paris, otherwise we would be very upset. Comparing to other three or two starred restaurants we tried in Paris, L'Arpège was not a pleasant dining experience.

L'arpege is on of those restaurants that is both food and experience. I try to go every-time I am in Paris. Of course, I always reserve weeks ahead and usually go for lunch, after a trip to the Rodin Museum. The last time I was there was before Covid. When I returned this summer, they had changed the decor and have altered the menu. Overall most of the vegetable dishes were very good. I am not a rhubarb person, and ended up with a lot of rhubarb entrees because it was in season. We ordered the dover sole as an addition and it was excellent. LArpege does not disappoint and the service is always excellent. I have to also mention, if you hate butter, this is not the restaurant for you. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant and give it my GoldnAdvice seal of approval.
Be the first to ReplyElegant and spectacular lunch!
Four family members ate lunch at Arpege for my 70th birthday! It was an incredible and memorable experience. The are several choices for lunch ( need reservations) we had the priz fixe choice which can be fish, meat or vegetarian. Over a four hour time period we had many memorable courses served by exceptional wait staff. The wine choices were in a large 4 inch wide manual. The decor was beautiful, the vegetables and offerings exquisite. Seating indoors and Health Pass required. If you have the opportunity to make a reservation and eat at Arpege it will be memorable!
