Arnaud's New Orleans Reviews from The Last Year
Old School Excellence
Nice feeling to the place and the service was efficient, friendly and unobtrusive. The turtle soup was excellent as was the duck. Also enjoyed the oysters arnaud and their kind of jazzed up house old fashion. All the food was very enjoyable and well plated. The al-ecarte menu was not overly extensive and every dish seemed well established. If you're looking for a white table cloth experience without the pretense this is an excellent option. If you're looking for the latest fusion creations in town, wrong place.

Looked forward to trying out this New Orleans classic and won't be going back. Started with the tasteless crab claws. My main dish was also similarly bland. We had bananas foster for dessert and that was good. Service was good and staff very attentive. Unsure why they make a big production about the rolls. They are standard bland white dinner rolls with butter. Instead of bringing bread for the table, they use tongs to give each person one roll and one pat of butter. They bring a little water bowl with a lemon to wash your hands. Why? We were invited to look at the onsite "mardi gras museum." They have some old Mardi Gras costumes on mannequins. Some of the mannequins are cracked and look very shabby. Doesn't look like the museum is maintained at all. Feels like a metaphor for the restaurant.
Fun but seen better days
An old school formal restaurant that has seen its best days. Arnaud’s is a New Orleans institution I’ve been wanting to try for a long time. It is a white table cloth French restaurant (obviously with creole influences) that feels right out of the 1950’s. Classic French/creole sauces and dishes, waiters in tuxedos, staff everywhere smiling, live jazz trio. Go here for a fun harkening back to early days of wealthy New Orleans privilege if you are in the mood but know it’s a past with flaws. But it’s also tired and doesn’t shine compared to the cutting edge cuisine all around the city. The seafood gumbo is fine but pales in comparison to the depth and richness that can be found elsewhere. The broiled oysters also feel second class. Their famed veal tourenadoes are good but the sauce is one note and feels classy but no frills. The fish meunière is good too, but one note, and not to write home about. The wine I had was not good. Service was friendly and attentive.
Absolutely wonderful restaurant!
Everything from service to cocktails to food was perfect for a family birthday meal. Definitely get one of the flaming tableside desserts or drinks. Really fun and wonderful restaurant. The whole group absolutely loved it!
we had a great experience in the jazz bistro.
it's not super loud but also nice to have live music during a truly great dining experience. the drinks are well-crafted, and food is truly special. the service was also great. Keith and Chance are a dynamic duo of knowledge and helpfulness. Keith especially stands out with his recommendations and banter. They should pay him whatever he wants. Can't wait to come back.
I really enjoyed the meal.
I actually want to go back and try other items. Not too impressed with the service, took about 25 mins. to put our appetizer in. I also was there to celebrate my husband's birthday which I informed the restaurant about, but our waitress didn't even acknowledge it when we were there. There was a $12 music/band fee but we didn't even get to enjoy the music. The musicians were in and out in a blink of an eye (3 songs, gone!) came back to sing happy birthday to someone at the table across ours, proceed to another table and then gone again. I really thought they were going to do the same for my husband but did not happen. Anyway, I wouldn't pick this place to celebrate another birthday but we will more likely to come back in the future to try other items.
Overrated and disappointing.
Our waiter was friendly and warm, and generally speaking we were greeted kindly. However, when we established how we wanted to be paired for our checks, suddenly new fees appeared on our bills, including a "liquor fee" for nonalcoholic beverages. When we politely questioned this, we were given a nonsensical explanation with what I assume to be a manager standing closely by as if to intimidate us. The food was very mediocre - aside from the crab cakes which I do believe were excellent, the sides including the soufflé potatoes tasted as if they were frozen foods that had been microwaved. I would not go back. Our experience wasn't the "fine dining" experience of good food that has been advertised on some platforms.

10/10 for best food/service experience! When you want an amazing dining experience, go to Arnaud's. The Sunday Jazz brunch is divine. From the servers to management, everyone was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, highly recommend the crabmeat cheesecake and turtle soup. You absolutely need to order the bananas foster dessert which is made table side. We even took our daughter and everyone was sweet to her. Have a French 75 cocktail and enjoy the jazz music!
We had an absolutely amazing time dining here at Arnaud's.
The food was unreal, and the service was phenomenal. Our server Travis was so friendly and our entire family had such an amazing time. I highly recommend checking out Arnaud's when visiting New Orleans. If we ever make it back to this city we will be sure to return to this restaurant.

The ambiance was spirited and welcoming.
The cuisine was beautifully prepared and delicious and Tyrone made sure the service was exemplary. Great to know a classic's still got it!!
What a great place! My wife and I went there last night
What a great place! My wife and I went there last night for dinner. We had the oysters Arnaud, crab claws, crab cakes, stuffed mushrooms, crabmeat Karen and ended it with a baked Alaska. Sounds like a lot. And it was, but everything except the crabmeat Karen were appetizers. Some were definitely full by the end of the evening but didn't have anything leftover. Incredible food quality. We live in SoCal and try to come to NO once a year. Just for the restaurants. Arnauds did not disappoint. And the service is off the charts. Waiters were all in tuxedos. And super friendly. The restaurant was packed and had a great vibe. I wore slacks and a collared shirt and felt a bit under dressed. I only counted two other men who did not have on a sports coat or suit, so I recommend to take their dress attire requirements seriously. You don't want to end up looking like the homeless guy outside.
Historic and fancy restaurant in New Orleans with a
Historic and fancy restaurant in New Orleans with a separate bar and small museum dedicated to one of the founders of this restaurant. They focus on seafood and we tried a lot of what's on the menu. But, I was at a large table and wasn't able to capture pics of my colleagues entrees... And, Andy Garcia (actor) sat at the table next to ours! Definitely worth visiting if you're visiting New Orleans as it's off Bourbon Street.
Fantastic Sunday jazz brunch at this restaurant.
The waitstaff was attentive and informative. The Belgium waffle was good. The crab cakes were good too. The banana fosters was amazing. The Gumbo trio was fabulous. The soprano sax, string bass and guitar players were great!
Most Disappointing Meal on our New Orleans Trip
We had a wonderful time in New Orleans, but this was unfortunately probably the worst part. We were very excited for the jazz brunch and were celebrating a special occasion. The service was incredibly slow, they stuck us in a corner where we couldn’t even see the musicians even though it was really empty when we arrived for our reservation, the music was about 45 minutes late in starting and the food was mediocre at best. Even the presentation of an eggs Benedict was disappointing as they just threw some reheated potatoes on it and called it good. It seems like they’re coasting off of their history instead of focusing on quality. I’d go somewhere else. It’s not worth the time or money.

A very special meal
Such a special elegant formal dinner. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. Upstairs is a small museum showcasing Mardi Gras gowns and photographs.
Simply superb
Every year we travel to New Orleans to dine at their restaurants. We have 3 favorites but our #1 is Arnaud’s. We have had the privilege of dining there at least 6 times and every time we are so impressed with their food. I ordered the gulf fish almandine with the subtle delicious sauce and it was fabulous. My husband thought the seafood gumbo was the best that he had tried in New Orleans. His fish entree was just as delicious. We always order the strawberry Arnaud dessert and it’s the perfect ending to a perfect meal. We are always in awe of their impeccable service. There is a team of 3-4 servers per table plus the manager stopping by to see if everything is satisfactory. Our water glasses were constantly being refilled and our appetizers and entrees were brought to our table in a timely manner. It always is a special experience dining at Arnaud’s. Highly recommend!!
Great drinks on a rainy night
We stopped in on a rainy night somewhat just trying to hide from the rain, but also wanting to sit down at an old school French Quarter place. We certainly got that. We sat at the bar and had a French 75 at its birthplace. Bartenders were friendly and helpful even while dressed up formally. They gave us the low down on why I liked the original French 75 so much since it is cognac based instead of gin based (the British version). They then recommended the duck fat finished, which was amazing as well. Definitely coming back when I get back to NOLA.
The perfect place for my father's birthday dinner
We reserved a small private room (the Sins room) for my father's 80th birthday. We had an absolutely wonderful dinner and evening. Our dedicated server, Reggie, was fantastic in every way, from the nuts and bolts of timing the courses to knowing just when to give more information on the menu or tell a little story and when to give us some privacy. The food, the drinks, the atmosphere of the room, every interaction with every member of the staff, every element was perfect. If you're coming for a special event, look into getting a private room. There's no extra fee, per se. Instead the gratuity is adjusted to be 22% or $200, whichever is more. It was exactly the right degree of fancy and friendly for our family celebration.
Absolutely Lovely Evening
Everything was perfect: service, environment, music AND food. Totally romantic and one of the best dining experiences of my life. And that’s pretty good.

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

When it says working on bid, it means there are people looking to fill it.
