Arlo SoHo New York Reviews from The Last Year
What started out rocky ended up incredibly smooth.
I had noise issues and had to switch rooms a couple of times, once I contacted Harrnison the manager, everything was rectified immediately and swiftly. Sure the rooms are small but it's NY, you're meant to be out and not in, if you want a quieter room on the weekend go city view, that way the bar and nightlife in the courtyard doesn't keep you up!
Comfortable and clean hotel in Soho. Super friendly
Very well located hotel. Super clean. Friendly environment. Alejandro was super helpful and attentive. Pay attention because if you use the slippers they must be paid. The room is small but comfortable. Electronic roller blackout very easy to operate
Amazing stay
Very good service, staff very attentive & caring, especially Alejandro:) we recommend, great location as well, we couldn’t recommend more!
Great stay- talk to Alejandro!
Hotel was super nice and clean! Alejandro was the BEST super helpful and made check out an absolute breeze. Thanks for your help Alejandro!!!
Warm sunshine of care and tact
Upon my checkout I had the most wonderful experience at the Arlo SoHo. Ivan, Bersalia and Al were a dynamic team. I’ve rarely had such great attention and service upon checkout at a hotel. Ivan helped me figure out my bag tags and even arranged for a car to be prepared to pick me up, waiting patiently as I lost my bag tag and tried to figure out timing. The manner in which he asked was so polite. Thank you so much, team 😌
Great stay. 100% recommend
Super great trip! Love staying at the Arlo. The rooms were great, amenities were great and loved the candy bar in the lobby! The Foxtail was also a super cool spot. Shoutout to Alejandro for the wonderful and friendly service. 100% recommend
Great stay at the Arlo Soho!
I highly recommend staying at the Arlo Soho!! The entire hotel staff (Bersalia, Al, Ivan, & Alejandro) was very friendly and helpful. The speakeasy bar has such a great vibe and wonderful cocktails. The rooftop bar was fun too! My room was very clean and comfortable. Loved that the room had a streamer instead of an iron because I was on a business trip and need to get my clothes unwrinkled. I would definitely stay again next time I’m in NYC!
Wonderful hotel
I came with GymShark for a business trip and oh boy i want to come visit next month when i come with my girls! Arlo is great place to visit for vacation and business needs. Thanks to Elaine who was a doll upon arrival. Offered me some tea and she is so funny! I turned bright like a tomato. She definitely deserves a million gold stars. Thankyou ARLO.
AMAZING EXPERIENCE!
Let me just say Arlo Soho is a wonderful place to stay! The rooms are super cozy and it smells AMAZING ! I attended as a plus one and the customer service is absolutely out of this world. Miss Elaine is an absolute rockstar. She greeted me with such pleasure and checking in was such a breeze. She even took my all 4 of my bags and we had a lovely conversation, i almost didn't want to go up to my room haha ! Overall i would totally recommend for whatever purposes ! I am totally coming back !
Wonderful place
Arlo Soho is a such a creative place! Elaine was very sweet although my room wasn’t ready upon arrival. I had such a long route and I just wanted to drop my things off and eat, but luckily she gave me a great pizza recommendation next door with a coupon and it was lovely. I also want to thank Ivan for being so patient and happy to take my bags until check in time. The Arlo staff was so accommodating definitely increases in value. 10/10
This was fine for what it was.
Clearly you are paying for location, because you get a postage-stamp sized room for hundreds of dollars a night. I guess that's NYC. The staff are what bumped this place up to 4-stars for me - terrific all around. Despite the tiny rooms and the AC that did not work, the staff were awesome and super helpful. Alejandro in particular definitely deserves a shout-out. They have a cool set-up, including a restaurant and speak-easy, though we didn't get to try them on this (very short) trip.
I wanted to alter my previous review.
With in 1 1/2 years I have stayed there roughly 7-8 times from 4-7 days each visit. The general manager was fantastic, I was treated very well and enjoyed all things arlo. 4-6 weeks they transferred the GM and took in another. I recently stayed there almost a week and the decline in customer service and general attitude was astonishing. My room was horrible with the loud truck sounding A/C, the solution they offered was to set my heat on 78 degrees. I told the front desk, the reply was what do you want me to do, along with an eye roll. House keep was horrid, I needed to keep the drain stop on the sink counter so the water would not fill. I assume The annoyed house keeper put the stopper in so tight it wasn't able to be removed , even after housekeeping left they left a sink filled with dirty water. At 2 am I had to call engineering to come up and get in out of a sink full of dirty water. The level of care was non was no where on that trip. I checked out of there for the last time. My many reviews in the past has gotten rave comments and have encouraged many to go there in my opinion. Giving a 2 star was being generous

Bursalia, thank you for being such an accommodating host to our 10 day stay here in NY. this hotel was super cute it had movie nights, game nights, and live jazz music. They have a great restaurant attached to the hotel where you could get 10% off any of their affiliates. You also pay for urban fee which includes their gym amenities (7 min away). I wish the gym affiliate would've included one with a sauna / steam room. Instead, we paid to go to one because it was so cold. The room stayed clean, cleaners came by almost everyday. They had the towels located in the hallways so that you could grab more if you needed, which was nice. Although it was a micro-hotel and we stayed over 5 nights, bursalia set us up in a corner room so that it would be a bit more live-able for 2. Walls are thin, glad my fiancé opted in to bringing our white noise machine. Location of hotel was pretty awesome too. Easy to take the train or subway.

NOTE: Do not book a room here if you want something spacious. I was in town for work and we did a meeting at the hotel so I stayed there for a couple of nights. The hotel rooms are tiny. Literally the bed took up the whole room on three sides. Then there was just a small area with a desk and sink and a tiny shower and toilet room. The room was totally fine though since I was barely there and the bed was comfy. We did a 50 person meeting in their Studios on the 2nd floor. Very nice room. Wonderful food. We did a grain bowl buffet. Everyone raved about the food. It was one of the best hotel buffets I have ever had. We then did a reception in the Living Room space on the first floor. Very nice space, great bartender, good food. Overall both of our events went well. Staff was helpful.
We stayed here for our anniversary, the room was nice.
The view could have been better but over all was great. The front desk staff was kind enough to let us do an early check in after our flight was changed. Overall great place to stay and was clean.
I stayed here for work.
I guess if you value a convenient location then this is the place for you. It's a nice and lovely hotel, with a rooftop restaurant. The rooms are overpriced at around $600/night for itty-bitty space. It made think about Japanese capsule hotels

Stayed with my husband while on his work trip and while the staff was incredibly friendly that's where my positives ended. I have never been in a more uncomfortable bed, a room with the worse ventilation, when the heat or air turned off it made this strange loud zinging noise which would wake anyone from a deep slumber. Thanks for the worst three nights sleep imaginable Arlo SoHo we will not return!

Executive Summary: Dirty, tiny, and not at all worth the money. Details below. I have never before been moved to write a negative review of a hotel, however I thought I would share more about my stay for the benefit of other travelers. I'll start with the positives: convenient location and very friendly staff. Unfortunately, everything else was negative. This hotel has the biggest discrepancy in value vs. price of any hotel I've ever stayed at before in NYC. The rooms are tiny, even by the city's standards. You can only access the bed from one side of the room, unless you want to duck under the horrible placed TV to get around. There is literally no room, let alone furniture, for storage, with the exception of one miniature drawer situated underneath the bed. The layout of the room makes a clean placement of one's items impossible. While I know they are going for a clean minimalist vibe, but the room felt very cold and clinical to me. The fact that the room was dirty made this worse -- literal dirt & dust on my backpack and hair found all over the room that was not mine. As many have mentioned, the bathroom situation is unfortunate and uncomfortable. I felt as if I was in a trailer during my stay. Also, the shelf that held the toiletries broke during my shower, knocking the knob to send the temperature to a scalding hot degree. I write all of this because while the staff is nice, management is neglecting their facilities. My brother stayed at The Beekman for the same price and had a completely different experience. I am so envious I did not do the same because staying at the Arlo honestly dampened my trip! I would suggest looking at your options before booking here because in my view, it is not nearly worth the money!
