Small restaurant, can be noisy
Had reservations. Seated promptly. Service was punctual No cocktails. Wine by the glass and bottle All 4 of us enjoyed our food…..tuna tartare, grilled octopus, branzino, linguine with seafood…. All very good Reasonably priced. Not rushed I would return Parking is difficult in strip mall diagonal spots, but plenty of places within 1 block

We have eaten here many times since they opened a few years ago. It is our favorite French restaurant in Westchester. The food is reliably excellent. The service is attentive and professional while not stuffy. The space is pleasant and relaxed. We have never been disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyMy Kind of Intimate French Bistro BUT...
I truly wanted to love this place. The restaurant is narrow and long with open kitchen concept - reminded me of a couple of bistros in France. Some authentic French dishes were offered and were delicious, and ingredients, to me, were fresh. Service is equivalent of those touristy Paris cafes - rushed due to waiting customers at the door. The establishment is tucked away in a small strip mall setting. A parking spot may be hard to find. What made me give this otherwise cute restaurant 4-star instead of 5 was, while deco and food might appear French, open kitchen and waitstaff spoke Spanish loudly to break my imagined French world. I felt like I wandered into Guatemala City instead of Paris. I have been to both cities, and I expect different culinary experience from each.
Be the first to ReplySmall, intimate and excellent food
This was really an excellent experience. The place is tiny, but it so happens that because of it, casual conversations developed with the tables for two to our left and right. The crowd is fairly old with a few young people. The food is exquisite. I had the Duck Cassoulet, a special. Really outstanding. My wife had scallops also excellent. As an appetizer we shared the octopus, which could have been a tad softer. The service was very friendly. The small place and the open kitchen led, however, to ourselves, our hair and our clothes smelling of food at the end. Maybe more fans would help, but what do I know? Definitely a place to return to.

Wonderful, attentive service. Limited but decent wines by the glass. Loved the mussels; roast duck could have been more tender. Out of the way neighborhood restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyVery good local French-inspired
Very good local French-inspired food. Very attentive service. A bit pricey. $100 for dinner for two. The duck was very good, as were the frittes. Roasted squash was ok. My wife had the pasta with seafood and enjoyed it.

Yes it is in a strip mall and parking is not easy and it is a small restaurant and the tables are close to eachother. But... the service is quick and the food is authentic, well prepared and full of taste. Great salade frisee aux lardons with perfectly poached egg. Very good scallops and ravioli and a perfect crème brulee and banana beignets. Excellent quality at a fair but not cheap price.
Be the first to ReplyAlways a great meal
Four of us shared a great dinner with baby greens, frisee salad, linguine, escargot, lemon sole and salmon. All were well prepared and service was professional. It is a very small restaurant that is big on food.

Tucked away in a small side street in Port Chester is this lovely spot with good food and very pleasant staff

We’ve gone twice in the past 6 weeks and the food/service has been very very good. This place is classically French which may not excite some diners, but in our experience it’s very hard to do well. The moules frites were excellent (plump garlicky mussels and those fries....!) the escargot tender and rich, and the sole meunière lovely. Also, the service is exemplary; friendly and attentive but not intrusive.
Saturday night the restaurant was packed and people were cleaning their plates! We don’t give a damn about a restaurant being hot one week or another; classic French cuisine - like some others - transcends trends.
Bistro Appetit gets it, and delivers.
Going back with friends soon.
Two suggestions- serve Kir Royale as a summer aperitif, and upgrade the bread to be served with French butter.
Mediocre French food, overpriced
Four of us went to this crowded, noisy overpriced but very "hot" restaurant. Unfortunately, following the crowd to a trendy restaurant doesn't make a lot of sense--but don't we all do it sometimes?
We were squeezed in between two tiny tables near the kitchen. The escargots were ok, as was the duck but nothing special. The only thing spectacular was the bill. Moral of the story-don't follow the crowd.
The Second Time Around
It turned out that we already dined here once before, when Appétit Bistro just opened its doors in 2015. Although, leaving in the area, it took us a long time to come back again. Perhaps it’s because the other French restaurants have clear advantage of better locations, warmer ambiance, the size of the restaurant and easier access to parking.
Never the less we were looking forward to try many appetizers on the menu that appeared to be very tasty.
"Escargot En Croute" was good, but I feel like it was missing a bit of herbs and garlic.
"Mussels Mariniere" in a creamy saffron broth were very tasty.
However poached egg in "Salade Lyonnaise" was slightly overcooked.
The mixture of celery, capers, Cherry tomatos and arugula in "Salade de Poulpe” was wonderful, but the octopus was a bit dry.
The highlight of the dinner was "Ravioli Aux Champignons Sauvages" - that was delicious!
The restaurant is tiny and when you seat next to the open kitchen you get super hot.
I also think that finding a parking was a bit tricky. The service however was very hospitable. Overall we had a positive experience and looking forward to try out the sister restaurant - Capers.
Another great meal
Service was great as was the food. I had the Frisee salad and mussels in the cream sauce. Needed extra bread for the sauce! Others had salmon and lamb shank special which they said were great. No cassoulet on the menu yet, but will have to come back soon for that.
