Michelin Quality Food at McDonald’s prices (well almost!)
Great diner exceptional value for money. We had the larger tasting menu. 4 courses plus 2 amuse bouches and we added a cheese course. Very good wine list 3 of us with 3 bottles of wine euro 270. The trout main course and the cheese dish a sort of Roquefort soufflé were the highlights but all was good. Definitely need to book

We were lucky to get a late cancellation for the restaurant. An experience not to miss. The menu belies the treats that come along the way. We left feeling like we had just a once in a lifetime treat. Go if you can!

I had my birthday while we were in Lyon this year. We wanted a restaurant with Michelin Star credentials and did a Google search. We found Agastache Restaurant. The menu looked great and the prices were reasonable. On the day, we fired up our Google Map and made our way to the restaurant. We found ourselves in a residential area of Lyon and wondered if we made a mistake. After all, most great restaurants should be in 'centre-ville', right? When we went into the restaurant, the decor was modest and it was pretty small. We were given a 'formule', which was a set menu that was different from the one we found online. Determined not to let that spoil my birthday lunch, we just went with the flow. And we were so glad we did that - each course that came out was a gastronomic delight and experience in its own right! The flavours were delicately balanced and no wonder the restaurant won Michelin Stars before! From a service point of view, the waiter who looked after us was lovely. I could speak French but my friends couldn't. Without missing a beat, he would speak to me in French but switch to English when he spoke with my friends. In fact, we booked the restaurant at home while we were still in Australia. They had a system where they would send us a text message to confirm the day before the reservation. I emailed the restaurant to tell them that I wasn't sure if my normal phone number would work when I was in France. We then exchanged a few emails and they basically accommodated our circumstances with patience and courtesy. All in all, we all enjoyed our food a lot and it was a birthday lunch that I will remember for a long time to come.
