Go at the Right time
Head to this place during off peaks, and you instantly get a standing table. Yes, you eat while standing...but that's cool for a place like this. Sashimi and other seafood is really fresh. This is our second visit here (first visit Sept 23) - yes, it worth the while. We eat here on a Friday at 4pm. Had the super fresh draft beer and deluxe set meal. It's a lot to eat but value for money. We will be there again when we next visit Taipei.

Nope, not going to lie. We took a taxi here to hopefully have a great seafood experience. The grocery store has some amazing take away items but no place to eat outside. The restaurants were so overpriced that we did not stay and eat. With so much great food in this town, this overpriced trap was not for us.

Rate 1, horrible experience. The waiter bringing us to the table is rude. He has such frustrated attitude towards customers. A restaurant like this will not last long, will turn off customers.
Be the first to ReplyLess is More Part 512 - Amazingly Attractive Appetising Aquarium
Quite the atmospheric emporium for all things seafood - swimming, chilled or frozen. It looks wildly popular given the crowd on a Sunday evening. The dining format can be a bit confusing initially. After navigating through the aquarium full of live fish and crustaceans, we ended up in the Japanese sushi bar since it looked the busiest and was the most centrally located. While we didnโt have a reservation, the reception was kind enough to accommodate our party of three very promptly. The sushi bar concept here is taken quite literally. There are no seats - standing room only with small counters to put your food. We ordered several sets and ala carte items including oysters and king crab. The service is fast so we didnโt have to wait long before our food arrived. One problem - itโs hard to fit all the food on the small counters! Loved the freshness and quality! Loved the crab and oysters. They were the best. Sushi was also quite good - just not gourmet kaiseki standard. Very little to complain about. Enjoyed thoroughly the dining experience. Legs were pretty tired by the end of the meal. This eatery comes recommended.

Better take taxi or bus to this place. From underground station, walk quite far. It is indoor market and restaurant. I had been this place couple years ago. It changes a lot in terms of quality of fresh food. Sashimi is not fresh. Food is limited. Inside is so dark.
Be the first to ReplyYou'll get good food but a much lighter wallet
Hard to review AAD - what you get is pretty good it is just that it seems too much for what you actually receive. Firstly this was the BBQ part as I think there is an indoor part too. The BBQ part is semi outdoor - open but with a roof covering and the way it works is you pick fresh fish & some meat from the display which is then cooked and brought to the table. First problem is the food is charged for by weight but the actual weighing is not done in front of you, so you can't see what that weight, is so you need to rely on their honesty. Next issue is the price. A single large crab leg is about 800NTD which, at the time of writing, was around GBP ยฃ22. Add a couple of prawns etc and your bill per person easily get to ยฃ60 without drinks. For those that still want to go there they do not take CC so cash only and no reservations either - turn up and take a ticket to wait when busy.
Be the first to ReplyFood Above All Else
Lots of people rave about this place and it's well deserved. It's not the gigantic fish market that people imply, but it's good sized. The sashimi was incredibly fresh. But the take out trays, go outside and find a place to sit down and eat. I'd wish that they gave a little more consideration to their customers. Put up a few tables inside, add some real wasabi and soy sauce, give us some plates... The food is that good, and that cheap, that you'd put up with it. Still...
Be the first to ReplyFresh Seafood but Expensive!
We parked our car near fish market. The fish market is mainly the indoor restaurants. We (3) had sushi sets and seafood. The sushi is fresh. The price was high.
Be the first to ReplyHighly recommended to visit at least once
So far I had the best sushi in Taipei. Super fresh though itโs a bit pricey. You can get other kind of food in bistro area. Highly recommended to visit at least once.
Be the first to ReplyNot Just Seafood
After a few years since I was last here the place still looked the same. Before entering I had my temperature taken and hands sprayed with sanitizer. The standard entering process now. Tanks of live seafood were the first things you see but if only I had a kitchen at my hotel then I could enjoy it. The main area still had the central restaurant serving sushi, grilled meats, etc. Refrigerated cases contained pre packed meats, seafood, vegetables and fruits, many different varieties of sushi/sashimi/rolls and drinks. There also was a hot food section with grilled pork, squid, fried rice and noodles, etc. I went to the sushi counter and ordered freshly sliced hamachi. A bit pricey but got a lot more than I would in a restaurant and very fresh. They also served fresh oysters and cooked crab here as well. Outdoor seating was available for those who go their food to go plus another outdoor grill restaurant sit down option. They only accept cash so bring lots of NTD. However an ATM was next to the register as a backup for those of us who rely upon their credit card too much.
Be the first to ReplyThe quality of take-out sashimi needs improvement
Nearby the Taipei Fish Market, the Addiction Aquatic Development is a food court famous for its fresh seafood. It is a mini version of Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo. There are gourmet supermarket, standing sushi bar, wine bar, and six restaurants. They offer seafood cooked with every methods: from sashimi, sushi, hot pot, to fish fried or grilled. To avoid the crowds in the standing sushi bar, I prefer buying take-out sushi and sashimi. Unfortunately, the quality of take-out sashimi has deteriorated recently. Not as good as those before. It needs improvement.
