nothing special
I don't really understand what's special about this restaurant... the place has no charm and the dishes are very sloppy... according to the reviews, it was a wonderful restaurant but I have the impression that it changed …

Great quality and value Portuguese food, served with charm! We returned after our first visit a year ago and found it just as reliable, despite the moans of the Brit at the adjacent table!

Made it a point to lunch here what with it being on the Michelin guide and all the raving reviews. However, I wasn't blown away. I had the Octopus Salad and Char-grilled Beef Spare Ribs with Chips. The spare ribs while good, were not exceptional. The octopus salad was generous with both the octopus AND vinegar, the latter of which I found a bit much. To be fair, I was on my own and didn't get to try more dishes so perhaps I would reserve my judgement. However, with A Lorcha being on the pricier side, I wouldn't be in a hurry to head back and would probably check out other Macanese/Portuguese offerings first. Location: A Lorcha is very near A-Ma Temple. Facing the temple, A Lorcha is on your left, along the main road.

My friends and I enjoyed a sumptuous Portuguese lunch at A Lorcha. Had to pre-order suckling pig in advance. Roast suckling pig Bairrada style was so delicious! Their red wine sangria was well balanced. Even ladies could drink much. Oven fresh buns went so good with sauce of clams “ Bulhão Pato" style, with garlic & coriander. If you like soup, order its Portuguese kale soup, with chouriço. Light and tasty. Cod cakes were not salty like other restaurants, and we loved them. Pork ear salad, with garlic, coriander and olive oil was refreshing. Mixed seafood rice was an all time favourite dish. Char-grilled beef spare ribs were tender. Their delicious and not too sweet milk and cream pudding, topped with crumbled biscuits was a nice finale. A Lorcha has been our favourite Portuguese restaurant in Macao. Highly recommended!

Glad we made a reservation for lunch because it was packed for CNY. My wife got the prawns and I had the chicken piri piri. The sauce the prawns were in was very good and my wife really enjoyed her dish. The prawns don't come with any sides. My chicken and fries (needed to add salt) was much better then I thought it would be when I first saw it. The presentation is simple and I wish the chicken came with a sauce of some kind, but it tasted great. Well seasoned and cooked perfectly. It's half a chicken so you won't leave hungry. The fresh warm bread is always a nice touch.

Authentic Portuguese food. Shells and ox tail was really delicious! Reasonable price. Service is good and above average. Please book a table ahead of time as the restuarant was always full.
Be the first to ReplyUnique Macanese food
A blend of Portuguese, Cantonese, and Southeast Asian flavors, authentic Macanese food is not easy to fin in Macau restaurants. This situation is odd, but a fact. The restaurant Lorcha serves whole Macanese food, including one of the best Minchis in the region. The setting is lovely, staff helpful, and the restaurant is spacious for families and groups. Lorcha is a highly recommendable restaurant in Macau inner harbor area.

Macau's traditional portuguese style restaurant. We had dinner and the food was typical portuguese, and the portions were on the large side. We enjoyed the bacalhau, clams, tomato salad etc etc. All very good.
