Twigs Bistro Vancouver Reviews
Disappointing experience
Twigs atmosphere is warm and inviting with a beautiful setting along the Columbia River. The food however, was disappointing. I ordered the king salmon with grilled broccolini and artichoke rice pilaf in lemon butter sauce. The salmon was covered with diced onion which there was no mention of in the description of the dish. The โpilafโ was white rice without any remnant of artichoke in a watery sauce. The broccoli was grilled to the point where it was black, tasted burnt and the stems were woody. I was sorely disappointed in this dining experience.
Food prices are quite spendy
My daughter and I were strolling at the Vancouver waterfront and decided to go to Twigs Bistro for lunch. We got an outdoor seating. The scenery overlooking the Columbia River while dining is nice. We liked the calamari for an appetizer. I got the Moroccan Beef which is okay, but came with a very salty sauce which I hardly touched. My daughter ordered Blackberry Lamb which is tasty although quite small for the price of $42. For that price, I expected a decent size. We shared the dessert that looks like a white flan made with coconut milk and gelatin. The sweetness is just right, not overly sweet. The waitress is attentive and pleasant.
Fun bar/restaurant with great food!
Great food and location, overlooking the Columbia River. WE ate there 3 times in a week we liked it so much, and brought our whole family! The White Salmon, mushroom risotto, fish tacos, beet salad were all great!
Donโt waste your time and money
Lovely view but not very good food. Prime rib sandwich was tough and not worth getting. Buttermilk chicken sandwich was extremely spicy and chicken soup was lukewarm and tasteless Restaurant was extremely cold so we had to keep our coats on. Definitely not worth it
Great view, good for large groups, gluten-free menu option
Went here for a holiday dinner with my dad's side of the family. Reservation for 7 wasn't a problem. Service was good, they were holiday busy so it wasn't fantastic but they seemed spread a little thin. The one negative was my aunt felt like they undercooked her medium rare steak. The cocktails were inventive and good. The Vancouver waterfront just keeps gaining momentum. Twigs should do very well there.
Better ambiance - Need
The food and drink were good. We have lamb burger and Fondue burger with old fashioned and mojitos. It took 30 minutes to find the parking , pretty much challenging on Saturday night. Hope they can improve the ambiance of the restaurant, music and and also interior. I think they can get better with their benches and step up from the diner restaurant scale to northwest style resto with cool music. Even our server is agreed with the bad choice of their music.
Classy yet informal restaurant with a great view
Came here for dinner with two friends, my first time here. It was a busy Friday evening and there was a wait for a table in the dining area but my friends and I were able to get seated right away in the bar area, and we got a great table right by the windows, with a nice view out to the river. Service was quick, and we ordered a couple of appetizers - Citrus Ginger Ahi (seared Ahi tuna, cucumber, cherry tomato, lemon, serrano chili, citrus-ginger dressing, green onion) and Moroccan Beef (sautรฉed steak bites, Moroccan spice, focaccia, gorgonzola fondue, balsamic glaze). I had the Chicken Bacon Avocado Sandwich (grilled chicken, honey-cured bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, white cheddar, and chipotle bbq aioli on a brioche bun), and I got it with a garden salad. Both were very good. My friends split a Halibut filet and a large salad, and we shared a crรจme brรปlรฉe for dessert. I also ordered a beer from one of the rotating options on tap, and that was also very nice. It's not inexpensive though not super-pricey either - you're paying for the view and upscale yet informal atmosphere so I'd say it was in line with what I'd expect. I enjoyed my meal at Twigs Bistro and I'd certainly consider going there again.
Posh takeout, delicious lunch
We had takeout from here - a fancy lunch. Crab mac, steak, glazed sprouts, salad, and fondue. DELICIOUS. It was easy to order and collect and the food was cooked to perfection.
Subpar Poorly Prepared American Food
At Twigs, a dinner reservation for three people will get you a table in the ultimate back of the restaurant, in the room with long tables that are very noisy. Apparently, the tables beside the kitchen and toilets were already taken. The woman who seated us was visibly put out when I pulled out my chair to reveal schmutzy on the seat and asked her to clean it before I sat down. My quick thinking partner swapped out chairs well before she returned with a damp rag and the frown still on her face. The food was comparable to any average American load 'em up at the trough feedery. I had a steak salad that was hands down the worst steak salad I have ever encountered. The greens were limp, there was so much dressing it was actually inedible for me, and the "steak," which I ordered medium rare, was little pieces of charred meat which I assumed was beef. Our friend ordered a marguerita pizza which looked awful to me. Dry with unripe tomatoes thinly sliced on the top. The server was competent and friendly. For the price, the quality of the food was poor. Do not recommend.
Lunch on the waterfront
This was our first time at Twigs! We ordered fish and chips and the fondue burger with pecan caesar salad. The fish had a nice better and good flavor. The burger was sweet in flavor and cooked how we like it. The side caesar salad was just as a caesar salad should be. Good to know the entree salad would be good to order on a next trip. The fries were good, the only item with a different flavor was the coleslaw. The coleslaw was dry and had a different flavor. It would be very nice to sit outside on a warm day to watch the walkers and river traffic. Today wasnโt very busy when we were there. Easy to hold a conversation and not very loud. Friendly wait staff! Weโll be back again for another visit.
