Shaw's Crab House Chicago Reviews
Great sea food
Great fresh and varied sea food in a cozy and vintage location in Chicago down town. Fresh crab and oysters, lobster as some creative sushi opciones.
Amazing food and service.
I had the surf and turf and it was cooked perfectly. Definitely try some of the oysters.
The gumbo was fantastic, and so was the top salad.
I wasn't super hungry, but all the seafood that came out around me looked amazing. My son got a grilled cheese and loved it. The service was great as well.

Yummy!! I was starving after a day of travel and ate dinner here. Staff was friendly and quick to help. I sat at the bar. My server helped me navigate the menu. I chose the seafood gumbo, seafood platter and cherry cobbler! Everything was sooo tasty
Excellent food, great ambience.
I appreciated that our server wasn't constantly coming over to ask if we needed anything, he let us be and popped over just the right amount of times. But this review is actually for the bus boy, who was literally the best one I've ever see
Still good after all these years
We, 3 adults, dined at 7pm on a Saturday night. The joint was bustling but even so, we were seated at the time of our reservation and found the decibel level not too loud to enjoy conversation. The menu is huge with lots of appealing choices; servi
Old school look, but a great culinary experience.
We went to Shaw’s on a whim because it was close to our hotel, and it was so good, my wife brought her work team back two nights later. The restaurant has an “old school” feel, but the food was modern and delicious. Oysters, steak, crab cakes

Beware of "Market Price" for their Norwegian Crab.
Make sure you ask the price because they are trained to sell it, but not offer any price warning. Although market price varies, it is usually about twice the most expensive menu item, but their "market price" is about six-times (6X) their
My wife went to Shaw's on a trip in July.
I got the crab cake. It was huge and ALL lump crab meat. No fillers. So delicious. Cold Lobster Tacos as an appetizer. AMAZING. Our host was awesome and there was a great ambience, as we were seated in the oyster bar area. Would definitely recommend
We stopped in to celebrate national oyster day.
I enjoyed a dozen fannie bay oysters which were absolutely delicious with a ceasar salad. My dinner consisted of the walleye pike and brocollini. My friend had the crab cake. I also had a great mojito cocktail. I left very happy and I can't

Very, very disappointed in this establishment!! We had 8:00 dinner reservations and when I looked at the open table, they had PLENTY of reservations that you could make for that evening. We got to the restaurant approximately 44 minutes prior to our
55 th Anniversary
We had Manny and his team as waiters. It was our 55th anniversary and from the host to everyone that contacted us during our dinner wished us Happy Anniversary! From the oysters to the fabulous desert the food was fantastic! Thank you Manny.
Old school seafood. Excellent
Old school seafood restaurant. My favorite dish was the lobster bisque. I enjoyed the variety of oysters and the signature seafood salad (but I would have preferred less fennel and less Italian dressing). We also had shrimp cocktail (excellent) an
Shaw's Crab House, Not Worth It
Food is very expensive. The lobster and cheese was horrible. I thought I scored big when I got a big piece of lobster. It was horribly fishy. The halibut was hot, however, the corn puree it was on was lukewarm. You could tell it was pre-made sit

Great spot for a quick lunch before or after the river tour.
We stopped in on the recommendation of a mini-bus tour driver. The location is convenient to the river tours. What a treat this place is! Very warm and "old school" inside. The interior has the feel of a family restaurant venue that dates

My first visit to Shaw's was May of 1985 and it is just as good today as it was then. I sat at the oyster bar as I did not have a reservation (recommend). The bar was packed and the service was great. I had the lobster bisque and the volcano roll wit

Love this place.
....Always top quality, both menu and service. My wife loves the daily oyster selection. Fresh and shipped from all regions. The clam chowder soup is one of the best I had and I travel all over.
One of the few chain restaurants that I enjoy.
Part of LEYE, so you know the quality is good and consistent. We've come for CRW twice, but also order a la carte. The Cold Appetizer Combo and New England Lobster Roll were great and worth it! The service was friendly, and we were able to have our d
I went here on a business dinner with a party of eight.
This place is a Chicago institution. Muted lighting, light jazz, staff wearing bow ties. This place is really known for their seafood. No matter what you get you can't go wrong. They also have a very nice cocktail menu where everything they make is t

We had excellent food and excellent service tonight at Shaw's Crab House. We chose to sit on the casual side of the restaurant, which meant no white table cloths but the menu was still the same. My Life's a Peach cocktail was tasty, as was the gumbo.

Excellent food but caters to big spenders

Old school atmosphere, seafood and steak house, check! Good food, check
While in Chicago, we looked for a seafood and steak restaurant and stumbled upon this one. It's pretty brilliant. It feels like it's been here for a century or more, still has a valet stand outside... that was attended when we arrived, and also when
An oldie but a goodie!
