Osteria Cinghiale Bianco Firenze Reviews
Just amazing … incredible culinary experience
We were in Florence to celebrate our fronds birthday and were recommended to visit Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco. Well …. We were not disappointed - Marco greeted us and sat us in the very comfortable back room nicely decorated - food was just amazing and service was superb . We had truffle pasta and rabbit stuffed with mushrooms. Do t forget to order onion flan - it’s a signature dish. Enjoy - we certainly did
Certainly overated
From the almost hour wait to be seated despite our reservation, to the hard stale bread, everything was disappointing. Not enough staff and an overcrowded seating area left us further dissatisfied. Our server was overwhelmed yet did a fantastic job in keeping up but the food unfortunately fell very short of expectations on almost every level. Too many options out there to spend an evening with this many disappointments.
A classic for a reason. 10/10
This restaurant feels like you’re in a Nonnas home, eating recipes that she has perfected. Tye wild boar pasta was exceptional and the tiramisu was the best we had over two weeks in Italy. 10/10
The food was good and the ambiance lovely! We didn't have
The food was good and the ambiance lovely! We didn't have a reservation so we had a little wait but they brought wine out for us! We met people also waiting for a table and they were lovely. ! All in all it turned out lovely ! This restaurant was recommended by Gwyneth Paltrow on goop and I was very skeptical but she came through ! Food service and ambiance all great
Great food, service, atmosphere
Excellent food, excellent service, great atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant. BUT make sure you have a reservation! Otherwise you’ll be waiting in a long line
Food was wonderful.
We shared appetizers and entrees and everything was really good. Also had a Florentine steak and roasted potatoes. The steak was wonderful, but the roasted potatoes might have out done it for flavor. Great ambiance and service. Overall a wonderful evening.

We had such a fabulous evening here! From the service to the food to the people around us, everything was spot on. We started with the prosciutto and melon plus the burrata with truffle -- both were incredible. My wife ordered the sea bass (so fresh and perfectly cooked) and I had the pappardelle with wild boar ragu -- an absolute must-have. We wrapped it all up with tiramisu and espresso. Amazing food, warm atmosphere, and a night to remember. Don't miss this spot! Reservations book up quickly but we were able to snag a 9pm reservation w some from our hotel
Most amazing service, food and atmosphere.
Highly recommend the specials of the day or prosciutto with cantaloupe, Ravioli, Tagliata with porcini, Pappardelle with wild boar, and the world's best tiramisu!

This was our first meal in Florence during a 3-night stay, and sadly, was our least favorite. Perhaps it is the traditional menu that it was known for, as we are more into the modern flair. Or it could be the fact that we were here after having visited the best restaurant in San Mario and arguably the best Italian restaurant during our week-long road trip in central Italy! We asked several servers for the recommendation, and everyone suggested the pappardelle with wild boar and roast suckling pig....the pappardelle was delicious, but certainly not the best we had (I guess it gets tough after having been to 100 countries). The roast suckling pig was a different story...the meat was chewy and not tasty at all. We could barely finish our food and left the restaurant unsatisfied. The service was hit and miss. The bartender warmed up to us after seeing us struggle to stay cool. But the server took a while to take our orders after we were seated at the table. The restaurant was buzzing though, even at late hours. I am sure there must be reasons that drew people here, we just didn't get to taste the food that we enjoyed.
Very tasty! Friendly staff.
One of the best restaurants of our trip and would definitely go back
Fantastic dinner
The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. We ordered two (smaller) pitchers of wine instead of individual glasses and ended up with about four glasses each for almost the same price as one glas each. It pared nicely with the dinner and left us with plenty to enjoy after the food. We ate here for our last night in Florence and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to finish the trip off on. I am beyond satisfied and would absolutely go back again.

This is the one you've been waiting for--the restaurant you dreamed of when visiting Italy. Beautiful rustic dishes made with quality ingredients. Handmade pappardelle blanketing the plate with wild boar sauce. The namesake of the restaurant is the white boar, so I paid special attention to factor it into the order. The butter and sage ravioli was aromatic like perfume, even intoxicating. And the porcini mushrooms blanketed the steak like umami butter. Book this restaurant if you are in Florence! I just wish I could have tried the other dishes that were parading out of the kitchen past our table.

Excellent service, great steaks and a wonderful place to have a meal. Other positive reviews are spot on.
This was one of the best meals we have had in all of Italy,
This was one of the best meals we have had in all of Italy, and ranks up in the best-ever category. We are from Kansas in the US and know good beef. The meat at Osteria was some of the highest quality I have ever tasted. Coked perfectly and served with simple sides. My wife's beef filet was in a Chianti sauce that was fantastic. Our T-bone was over two pounds of meat, not including the bone, and was tender and flavorful with just salt and pepper. Highly recommend but you should make a reservation. Service was impeccable.
Great traditional Tuscan food
Amazing traditional Tuscan food and drink. Marco and his team are great hosts and can’t do enough to ensure that your experience is great! The wild boar ragu is insanely good!
Authentic atmosphere and fantastic food
We had a wonderful dinner at Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco last night. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with traditional decor that gave it real character. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout, and the food was absolutely brilliant – full of flavour and beautifully presented. We’d definitely visit again!
The food, service, and ambiance was A+++.
The staff helped with wine pairing for the meal/each dish. The menu was the perfect size and diversity. The ambiance, both inside and outside options, was perfect. I'd suggest keeping the bathroom cleaner though, but this seems like a common area of improvement for all of Italy. We really enjoyed the boar cold cuts... phenomenal!
Top meal!
Our group had an amazing time. Our waitress was attentive and the food was amazing. I had the wild boar ragu, and it was just as amazing as the reviews said!
My favorite in florance!
So we’re traveling for 2 weeks now, all around italy, this is one of the best restaurants for sure! Dont miss the Tbone, panzzanella salad, perchutto with melon, ragu, ravioli with sage, everything we tried was delicious! The wine as well! Pics attached.
Our favorite in Florence
A favorite spot in Firenze. Historic building, excellent service, phenomenal food. We had the fillet of beef in wine sauce - the best! Reservations recommended.

Our server Roberto helped to make our night! He was attentive, fun, interactive, and easy going as we tried to speak Italian best we could! The prosciutto and melon were super tasty, the Cinghiale (wild boar) pasta was amazing, and the assortment of desserts were fantastic! The prices are reasonable and portions are perfect so you don't have to worry about leftovers and stuffing yourself too much! It was a wee bit warm inside but likely from the magic cooking in the kitchen. I can see us visiting this place again!!
10/10 This was by far my favorite meal we had in Florence.
I highly recommend this. Not only worth the staff amazing, the food was some of the best we have
A must go to when in Firenze
It is a must go to Restaurant in Firenze, it is iconic, food is great quality, service outstanding and good range of wines etc. The staff make you feel like family, very genuine and warm.

What an outstanding place to drop in for dinner while in Italy. Service was great and the food even better
Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco was really good and it seemed
Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco was really good and it seemed pretty local, despite the hype from being featured on Stanley Tucci's show. Of note, Florence does not put salt in their bread (out of tradition) so keep that in mind. In regards to the pasta we ordered, it was very delicious. We got the PAPPARDELLE AL RAGÙ DI CINGHIALE (pappardelle with ragu wild boar sauce). We also ordered a steak (which is traditionally cooked more well done). I personally would not have ordered the meat dish again (trippa/tripe). Overall we enjoyed our experience and would generally recommend, but I wasn't blown away by this restaurant.
One of the best meals I've ever had in my life.
We started with the Bruschetta. I am an avid lover of Bruschetta and have hundreds of different ones. This was the best hands down. We then order three different pasta dishes and shared the three. The Ragu, once again, was one of the best dishes I've ever had in my life. We also ordered a Truffle pasta as well as a Cherry Tomato pasta - both outstanding. The ambiance is great and exactly what you are looking for when dining in Florence. The owner (manager maybe?) is very kind and helpful. This is somewhat different from other places we have been in so far. Sorry for my subpar photography - I am working on it!
As good as it gets
This place is everything you want from a great Tuscan restaurant. Great service, Super Tuscans a plenty, convivial atmosphere, and sumptuous food. It’s been featured on TV shows, but fame has not gone to their head, the dishes are some of the finest in Italy, IMO. We went a bit truffle crazy and had the onion flan followed by the tagliatelle con tartufo. Onion flan was especially recommended by the server, we never would have ordered it otherwise, but it is an unctuous, cheesy delivery system for truffles. It is the food of the gods. The Tuscan steak was pretty great as well, served with fat soaked crispy potatoes. Get a res, and when in Firenze, eat here.
Everything was great.
The service, the food, the ambiance.. Many amazing dishes to try. 100% recommended.
Amazing dinner experience
Excellent dining experience. great service and amazing food. We had the wild boar pappardelle and wild boar polenta both were unbelievable. Highly recommend
Wish We could have Eaten at the Restaurant Twice while in Florence
Had dinner here for our last night in Florence and we were not disappointed. We made reservations which we recommend. The service was quick and courteous. Our server was able to speak English which was a plus. I had the filet mignon with the chianti sauce and fried potatoes which was excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly for me, I was able to cut it with my fork, the flavor was rich, I requested medium, and the chianti sauce was excellent. The sauce was sweet and rich; I have never had anything so tasty. The fried potatoes were also good. For my appetizer I ordered a delicious caprese salad and it was fresh, and flavorful. My husband had the gnocchi sauteed in brown butter sauce and oh my the gnocchi melted in your mouth. He also ordered the asparagus which was tender and flavorful. All in all it was one of the best meals we had in Florence. I only wish we could have returned for another meal it was that good.
OMG… just go…
Spectacular. Unbelievable food. Quick service. What more can you ask for. We were recommended this restaurant by a random man in the airport who heard us mention we were going to Florence for our anniversary. When we asked at the hotel, we again received rave reviews of the food. So of course, we went and love the place. We are eating there again later in the week!
Would not recommend
Tourist trap/ horrible service and total waste of your money to come here! Total bait and switch. We looked at the menu and had decided what to order, however the waitress kept pushing us to get their steak option. She even fat shamed by saying what we wanted originally would be too much for her or anyone (wth!). Unfortunately we fell for this trap and ordered and the steak that came out was not cooked to our preference, was 50% fat, and had absolutely no taste. We also observed that the same waitress pushing the same meal to other tourists similar to us who has wanted to order something else. The only positive is that the decor is very nice.
Loved the is place.
Went here two nights in a row for dinner. The second night my friend and I shared the steak and it was delicious. Honestly can't go wrong with anything in the menu and all staff is friendly and kind. Wine is also great here

Loved , loved the food, everything was great! It's hard to get in but if you are lucky you won't be disappointed
WOOOW.
We tried this our first night in Florence, booked in advance. It set the bar HIGH! Our server was great, it was so fun meeting the owner Marco, and the food was spectacular. I was in a dream every bite I took. We tried the truffle pasta and for my husband, the Chitarra Con Pomodorini E Burrata. My husband isn't the biggest fan of truffle, but he kept coming back for more. I've never had anything like it. We got the dessert Trio and the panna cotta after speaking with Marco. Our pupils were hearts and the plate was licked clean. I wish this place was close to home, I'd be a regular. Say hi to Marco, he's running around the restaurant helping and is fun to chat with!
We went without reservations and got seated at the bar,
We went without reservations and got seated at the bar, which had amazing decor and an awesome bartender. I got the peacock spritz which was delicious, and then we ordered caprese to start which was also great. The star of the show, however, were the 2 dishes we decided to split. We got ossobuco which was slow cooked lamb that came with sautéed veggies and the beef filet which came with potatoes. They were both phenomenal and we are debating going back again tonight!!!!!
A good steak place
If you are looking for a steak this is a great place! The Florentine steak was excellent but the Filet of Beef with a Chianti sauce was the BOSS! Overall this is a very good restaurant. The waitstaff is very attentive and friendly, the food is good and the value is good.
Best bistecca alla Florentina ever!
We didn’t have a reservation on a Sat night but were lucky enough to get a table for two ( restaurant was pretty much full at 7pm) and we were warmly greeted by our waiter who was super friendly and very well informed in terms of wine and food. Super prompt service and within a few minutes we were given water and ordered a few glasses of wine. We knew before coming here that we would order the bistecca alla florentine:). So we ordered a starter ( chicken pate and artichokes which were delicious) and then the steak arrived (1,25kg) and we just ordered a green side salad to go with the steak, I have eaten many steaks around the world and this would have to be one of the best steaks I have ever had! It was simpy delicious! Soft and juicy, rare of course and it was perfect! Together with a nice glass of red wine it was probably one of the most memorable meals I have ever had. After our main meal we ordered the tiramisu and it was just as delicious! One of the best tiramisu’s I have ever tasted. So look no further and visit this restaurant if you want to try a traditonal bistecca alla florentine which is of great quality and worth every cent:) . Best to make a reservation as we were lucky to get a table. Would def go back next time!
Outstanding!!!
Outstanding cuisine and service in a beautiful area of Florence. Highly recommended. Stanley Tucci dined here as well.

Spent a week in Florence and found this place on day 1 from a suggestion by our Airbnb host, what a great find it is! The staff are amazing, very attentive and super friendly. The food, wow, the food is AMAZING. Try the boar steaks...fantastic. Pasta with truffles... delicious! We have gone back several times for dinner and have always been happy with everything. If you see the owner working, and he does work tables like his staff, say hello. Great person with tons of knowledge about the area.
Must visit!
Best tiramisu I have ever had :) gorgeous interiors, lovely food, cozy atmosphere and generous staff. Dinner options are plentiful, I had the truffled chicken and it was 👌🏽
Cinghiale Bianco is our favorite restaurant in Florence.
The atmosphere and service are second to none. Every dish is perfectly prepared in traditional Italian fashion. The owners are always there to greet every guest. Making a reservation is suggested because seating is limited, especially on special occasions. You'll never find a better Italian restaurant experience anywhere.
Unimpressed with the service.
It took two hours to receive our meal. There may have been a mistake or forgetfulness in relaying the order to the kitchen, but nonetheless it was frustrating. The food however was better than I expected. I ordered the gnocchi alla pesto and I enjoyed it. The gnocchi is small so it seems plenty. If you choose to go I recommend going on the earlier side and ordering quickly. Also make sure you do not have any later plans in the evening, just in case.
We have been eating here for years.
We never miss a meal here when traveling to Florence. This past visit we brought home some jars of the cinghiale sauce that they have started making for sale. It did not disappoint and it was worth checking my luggage! We made some pappardelle and it was fantastic. Next trip I will be bringing home some more, such a wonderful treat. Thank you! Everything about this restaurant is A+
I'm back in the states now and seriously craving the food
I'm back in the states now and seriously craving the food here. Don't worry a bit counting carbs shmarbs, you should have left all that back home anyway:) Wverytgung we ordered was perfectly prepared and plated beautifully. We were a group of six so we ordered a variety and shared it all family style. Highly recommend that and of course every meal needs wine:)
What can I say other than it really doesn't get better than
What can I say other than it really doesn't get better than this. I've been coming here for over ten years now. I was so very happy to get a reservation and on arrival was greeted with a warm welcome. Marco and his staff truly embody what it is to love your craft. They made me feel (and always have) like I'm family. Their food is nothing but exquisite. Savor every bite. These people and this food is really something special.
They were lined up early at the popular Cinghiale Bianca
They were lined up early at the popular Cinghiale Bianca but with our reservation we were greeted and seated promptly, the experienced servers were right on top of things and the food arrived quite quickly an anchovy pesto appetizer was excellent and the tagliatelle with wild bore Ragu was a true winner but my partners baby pork dish seemed a bit fatty and just lacked the flavor we expected the sides of roasted potatoes and sautéed greens were very good. Would I go back probably but there are many other choices in Florence to try.
A lively and welcoming spot to enjoy classic Tuscan dining.
Everything we ordered was made with exceedingly fresh ingredients (tomato, pesto, eggplant, etc) and prepared wonderfully to accompany the wild boar and other featured cuts. But, especially outstanding, is the service, from the eager-to-chat owners right down to the busboys. This place should not be missed.
