We couldn't snag a dinner reservation but popped by on a Saturday afternoon and only waited about 20 mins for a lunch table. Phenomenal service and great ambiance. We got the beef noodle katiew, fried chicken, Thai crab fried rice, jasmine rice pudding, and palm sugar flower tea. Everything was absolutely delicious. My favorite is the fried chicken - so crispy and juicy and came with the most delicious house made green hot sauce. Looking forward to coming back and trying more menu items.

The flavors were so unique. The service was the best we've ever had at a restaurant. Our server was so passionate about the food being served and provided deep knowledge on the menu. We got so lucky with a cancellation otherwise we never would have been able to dine on our vacation.

Finally snagged a reservation for a midweek dinner.
The place is small with a high turnover, people going out and coming in constantly. The tables are tight but comfortable unless you have a very loud party next to you then I guess, good luck. Bathrooms are clean. Servers are friendly and will answer your questions patiently. This wasn't our first rodeo at a Cambodian restaurant so we didn't have many but the table next to us was constantly asking questions like what to eat, how to eat etc etc which the servers were very helpful with. We started with the anise thai tea and the spiced vietnamese coffee. I would highly recommend the coffee, it was delicious! For starters, we got the wild boar prohok dip that is super flavorful minced meat that comes with cold cabbage that you are supposed to sort of make a mini wrap and eat. Next, we got the Khao Soi and Thai Crab Fried Rice as our mains. The Khao Soi was phenomenal - delicious, creamy broth with soft and crispy noodles. The Crab fried rice was great as is - we reused the broth from the Khao Soi to mix with the rice and it complemented the rice very well. We ended our meal with the most delicious rice pudding - it had the richness of coconut milk and banana and freshness of lemongrass. I could also taste some water chestnut but could be totally wrong. We also got the funnel cake which was the perfect size and had a miso caramel sauce so slightly different than usual but definitely a much better version! It is definitely overhyped at this point but I guess good for them. I mean yeah it is great food that will satisfy your tastebuds but honestly nothing new or tantalizing about any of the dishes I tried. Every dish I had almost tasted like "oh yeah I have had this before".

Their food is amazingly delicious!!! My husband had to make dinner reservations 2 months ahead! He literally wait on the dot and make the booking and a minute later, he said all booked up. The restaurant itself isn't big at all so there are limited seatings. But this is definitely worth a try! We ordered the Arianna agua freca drink. At first we ordered one to share, but it was refreshing and good to sip while eating their spicy dish, we ended up ordering another one! We had their special starters that I don't think it was on their menu. It is raw scallops with bell peppers and pumpkin seeds in their homemade mild spicy and lime sauce. Delicious! We had 2 entrees to share. We tried the All star seafood fried rice and the Khao soi noodle. The uni and other seafood in the fried rice was fresh and meaty. The Khao soi came out looking like a soup base noodle but after mixing it, it's a very saucy noodle! We mixed a little of our starter sauce into this noodle to give it a little lime taste, which tastes even better. Both the fried rice and the noodle were just unbelievably good. Nothing disappointing at all! I think if we ever return to try out other dishes, we won't be disappointed for sure. The staffs were all very friendly and welcoming! Great atmosphere. The only problem is the tables are very close to each other due to the small space they have, which means you can pretty much hear each other's conversations. I think that's the only down side. And also, if you have a large group, you definitely need special accommodation from them.

really enjoyed the refreshing Burmese salad with melon and ginger. it goes well with the beef satay skewer. I was less excited by the crab fried rice, but I'm also not as big a fried rice fan generally. the agua fresca was melon, and also perfect on a summer day. arrived at 10:55am and missed out on the first 11am seating by about 3 or 4 tables, but put in on the list before picking up Italian pastries in the neighborhood. by the time we were back we had a table a little before noon.

Wow! Been meaning to try this place but it can be difficult to get a reservation. We were finally able to snag one, and it definitely lives up to the hype and worth the wait!! Service was impeccable, wait staff were very attentive and knew and explained the menu well. We ordered the prohok dip (must get!!!), crispy chicken skin, market vegetables, whole fish, fried chicken, khao soi, and night market noodles for 4 people. We were stuffed. It's also BYOB as well. This was great way to taste the different dishes and we loved all of them. However the prohok dip, vegetables, whole fish, and night market noodles definitely stood out. I can't wait to come back to try other dishes!

The resturant itself is very small inside so I can see why its so difficult to get a reservation. We had a reservation for 4 almost 2 months in advance. There are not too many Cambodian resturants around the area so I was super excited to try. We ordered the fried chicken skin & prahok dip for apps. We ordered night market noodles, the fish, the fried chicken, khao soi noodles, and market vegables they had at the time. My all time favorite is the prahok dip, it is a must get! The khao soi is also very different from the typical khao soi. I will defintely be back to try other things on the menu!

My partner and I heard about this place from seeing many glowing reviews online and wanted to give it a try. Their reservations were all booked up for the next 2 months, but we lucked out and saw a random opening one day and decided to grab it. We ordered their: (1) beef noodle soup (rating 5.0/5) -- They don't call it pho, but for all intents and purposes, it's essentially pho... and quite a phenomenal bowl of pho it is. Let me tell you, I've had probably over 100+ bowls of pho in my life from many different places (including many of the top pho spots in Philly), and this was honestly was one of my favorite bowls of pho ever. The oxtail was tender, the sliced wagyu beef was fatty in the best way, and the broth was super flavorful. They don't skimp on the portion either. (2) steak & prohok (rating 2.5/5) -- This was a 20 oz ribeye that my partner and I were really excited for, but unfortunately the dish was relatively disappointing. There was quite a bit of chewy gristle and silver skin that we ended up needing to spit out. The steak also had a fairly uneven cook, with some slices coming out medium rare (what we wanted) while other slices were well-done. It's hard to cook a large steak perfectly evenly because the edges will be cooked more, but the amount of well-done pieces were quite significant. However, the traditional Cambodian flavors came through nicely, and the pieces that were tender and medium rare were very enjoyable. Maybe Mawn had an off-night with the steak though, since everything else was delicious. (3) crab fried rice (rating 5.0/5) -- This was an fantastic dish, and the portion was generous. They didn't skimp on the crab either, so we got some crab with every bite. I thought the overall flavor of everything combined was excellent, although one slight negative might be it was a tad bit on the salty side. (4) funnel cake (rating 4.5/5) -- This was one of the better desserts we've had in a restaurant and possibly the best funnel cake we've ever had (although to be fair, most of the other ones we've had were at carnivals or theme parks). This was light, fluffy, and not overly sweet - overall just delicious. The only thing that would have made this better would be a scoop of ice cream or maybe a dollop of freshly whipped cream. Service Notes: The workers seemed friendly and were attentive. When we asked for things, like an extra spoon or to-go box, they got it for us right away instead of keeping us waiting. TLDR: This place is very good and I would have given it 5 stars if the steak was a little better. Again, maybe they had an off-night with the steak because everything else was delicious. I would happily come back to Mawn to see if the next visit earns 5 stars, and if the other dishes we got are an indicator, I think they have a good chance to getting it.

Cambodian restaurant located in the Bella vista neighborhood of south Philly. The food was so amazing. The clams in the lemongrass broth, delicious! The uni topped off with the roe over the seafood fried rice was so good, you definitely taste the southeast asian flavors. Plus it's a byob so bring your own
Find the one -- ONE! -- person you like the best, and take
Find the one -- ONE! -- person you like the best, and take them to lunch at Mawn as soon as possible. The hours that they are open are few, their seating is limited, and their popularity is off the charts. But, there's a loophole you can and should exploit: Unlike dinner, where a reservation is a *must*, lunch is walk-ins only. They have quite a few two-tops and a few four tops, which is why you go with one other person, to maximize your chances at snagging a table. Once seated, if you're hungry, do yourself a service and get many small dishes. Each was worthy of five stars. My friend and I shared the Burmese ginger & melon salad, which was perfect for a hot day, and a Saht Koh ribeye skewer marinated in galangal and lemongrass. Normally this is a dinner-only menu item, but was a special lunch item that day. The beef MELTS off of the skewer, it barely needed to be bitten. No joke: It's in my top 3 beef-based bites I've ever had. As we were leaving, we spied an older couple next to us who got the same order, only they had five or six skewers. Clearly they had been there before and they understood the assignment. For my main, I had the yellow curry noodle soup with tofu, and my friend had the night market noodles. They were both flavorful, but not overpoweringly spicy, and, like most noodle soups, deceptively filling. Service was very attentive and friendly, but they did neglect to put in our drink order. However, I was so enamored with the flavor of our food that I quite literally forgot that I had ordered it and didn't notice that it never came. When giving us the check, we asked them to remove the drinks from the bill, which they happily and apologetically did. I live very close to the Philadelphia's Southwest Asian neighborhood, and have been to quite a few of the restaurants with that cuisine, but NONE are as good as this. Find your best friend, loved one, or your favorite child, and go, and if the people who didn't take find out you went and get mad at you, then go BACK and take them. You won't be disappointed.

Cute ambiance, good attentive and welcoming service, great food! Do not miss out if you can get a reservation! We were able to snag a reservation on a Saturday at 5pm. We were seated immediately in a small but cozy dining area, right against the front window so we could people-watch while we ate. The place is BYOB but they also have some teas and other drinks you can order. I got the house lemonade. It was not too sweet and was minty. It was refreshing. All food is served as it becomes ready but for an appetizer, we got the prohok dip. I really enjoyed adding the pork dip to the crunchy refreshing cabbage leaves. The dip was savory and flavorful! We ordered the khao soi and the beef noodle katiew as the main dishes with the market vegetable with egg as a side. For just cabbage with seasoning and a runny egg, the market veggie was so delicious! Perfectly salty and tasty with the egg adding a bit of butteriness. It was one of my favorite dishes. Khao soi was rich, the chicken was tender. Great dish! My husband ordered the beef noodle katiew which was also a flavorful noodle soup. We finished with the funnel cake which was perfectly crispy and crunchy on top and then light, fluffy, spongy moist on the bottom. It had a wonderful caramel sauce on it as well! Overall, this was a stellar restaurant. The reservation process is a little difficult but if you can get one, it is well worth the wait!

Had to make a reservation about a month in advance to eat here. This is an awesome restaurant and certainly worth the wait. Everything I had was expertly done, plated well, and absolutely delicious. Our server was an expert and made our dining experience seem like a Michelin star experience (Emmanuel I think). I really didn't know what to expect with any of these dishes as I didn't look at the Yelp photos beforehand, but I was pleasantly surprised by each one -- each one creative and executed very well. Prohok Dip - The crisp and large cabbage pieces really made this dish -- each piece firm, holding the dip well and providing a refreshing element to the dish. The dip itself was flavorful -- very savory. At times, this was a little messy as the sauce really didn't have much to latch onto, but the textures and flavors worked really nicely together. Market Vegetables - Another round of crisp cabbage in this dish. Here, the seasoning was the star of the show, which coated the veggies and the egg. Very good. The seasoning was really everything. I probably would swap this for another dish next time, but worth trying. Beef Noodle Soup - The oxtail was the star of this dish -- so tender. The beef was good too, but I could've eaten the oxtail all day. The dish in general is very similar to pho, so if you like pho, you'll love this. This was a fairly large dish, but still best as a single person item -- hard to share this one. Khao Soi - This one was a little difficult to share too -- but we did it. This was probably my favorite of the night. So delicious and savory. So many flavors melding together to make this dish absolutely excellent. Plated well too. Highly recommend this one. The crispy noodles were fun too and helped to break up the texture. Funnel Cake - At the end of our meal, I really thought this would be too much since we were stuffed, but it seemed much lighter than other funnel cakes I've had. We shared this dish, and it was the perfect size. The caramel sauce was light and abundant. The actual cake was fluffy and mildly sweet. The coconut wasn't very prominent, but I really liked this one. Value: 4/5 Quality: 5/5 Quantity: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5

Outstanding meal and can honestly say this place is way better than we could have imagined even with all the hype we'd been seeing about this place ! We got the thai teas, crab fried rice, beef noodle Katiew, and funnel cake dessert. Do not skip the dessert here no matter how full you may feel, it's amazing. And we also go the fried chicken skins which were great but definitely a lot so would get this with a bigger group next time. Only downside of this place is I wanted to try every single thing on the menu and it was hard to choose what to order ! Also service was amazing. They are just really nice people.

Friendly, happy staff! We ordered their tasting menu and enjoyed the description of each course as it was served. Every course was delicious! Standouts: My husband said the "head on soft shell shrimp" (fish sauce caramel, bird eye chili, thai basil) was the best shrimp he has ever had! My favorite was the "steamed clams somlaw macchu" (tamarind lemongrass broth, thai chili, basil oil). The broth was so flavorful, I wouldn't let them take the leftover broth away! A cozy room where, even though it was full, you didn't feel on top of the people around you. We will be back soon!

writing for their lunch service bc i couldn't get into dinner LOL. so first line - walk ins (no res possible) at lunch are much easier (come on a saturday around 11-11:30 and u can pretty much guarantee sitting immediately). they have a couple things that aren't available but most of their noodle dishes are there pear salad - refreshing, a bit pricey tho night noodles - good, cold, refreshing, however i thought it was supposed to be spicy? too sweet for my taste beef noodles - best thing on their menu imo, delicious (had on a different trip) i think mawn is a great noodle shop for lunch, would like to try dinner at some point but don't think there's a need to kill yourself over getting that res - try lunch first and see if the flavors/vibes are your speed before gunning for that dinner BYOB - $23 pp after tax and tip for 1 app and 1 noodle dish to split amongst two

I felt very rushed during service and couldn't enjoy my meal because I felt like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. One of the workers at the restaurant made the experience feel super negative and elitist, which is odd when the menu is pulling from Cambodian culture that is filled with a sense of community. The stark juxtaposition between my experience in the restaurant versus the values of the items on menu made the whole experience feel in-authentic to Cambodian cuisine. I had a few dishes and the food was okay, but not worth the hype or the price point and you could find the same flavors and meals at local, authentic, and more genuine Cambodian restaurants in Philly. overall so sad I didn't enjoy Mawn as much as how I hoped to :(!

Visiting New Yorker here Mawn was *excellent* If you're looking for food that's new but also comforting, this is the place to go. If you're a fan of Thai food, Mawn has Cambodian food that is somewhat similar but also refreshingly different. You'll find some dishes that may seem the same, but you'll come to realize that the nuances make it such a differing experience. My friend and I ordered the papaya salad, beef noodle katiew, and night market noodle. I recommend all three of these dishes. They complemented each other perfectly. It hits all the umami spots without making you feel heavy. I think I was lucky with my experience -- we lined up early on a weekend right before they opened and were able to snag a table pretty quickly. So if you don't have a reservation, I would recommend lining up 15 min before, as there was quickly a line that formed after us. Otherwise, service was excellent. Our waiter was kind and extremely attentive. He was also helpful with what options to choose from.

I grew up eating some Cambodian food, and the food here is delicious and well done but it wasn't what I was expecting, especially upon walking in and hearing the Cambodian music that I grew up listening to. This is fusion food. The menu suggests Lao, Burmese, Thai and Viet influences. I ordered the prahok, which wasn't nearly as fermented as I'd thought it should be. It tasted more like an Americanized-Thai-influence dip. Was it tasty? Yes! But not like the prahok I know. Also got the $52 seafood fried rice, which I didn't love. It was good but not great, and it really didn't need that mix of seafood. The seafood itself was very fresh and perfectly cooked, though. The fried whole fish was the closest to legit. Super tender and crisp, great flavor on the sauce. I picked it to the bone, even ate the eyeballs lol. For dessert, we got the banana rice pudding with mango mousse. My husband really enjoyed it, but I thought it was just good. Wish there'd been more diversity in texture on it. Service was great! Fast, friendly, and attentive. It's a cute, intimate spot that could be a lil classy, a lil casual. Again, I think I'm the wrong audience for this. It's hard to impress someone who's grown up eating this kind of food for a fraction of the cost. I might be back for lunch to try the noodles, but I don't think I'd try for dinner again. Last I checked, though, it's completely booked up for the next three months! I'm also sure this restaurant has the potential to grow into something greater. Glad they're trying what they're trying!

FLAVORS BURSTING EVERYWHERE! This place is magnificent! Came here after seeing a delicious Instagram video. We didn't have reservations, but we were so grateful they squeezed us in! Our server Emmanuel David had the warmest welcoming spirit. He was so kind, gracious, and passionate about his service and the food. Emmanuel gave us great recommendations and it did NOT disappoint! Everything had incredible flavors!! The melon, pear salad, the whole fish, the yellow curry, the funnel cake! TOP TIER!! The Owner even came to check on us, and she was fabulous! So excited to come back!

Hit up Mawn to celebrate a friends birthday! We went during brunch on a Sunday and had about a 30 minute wait. Their check-in process wasn't very smooth though, there was no real order and just random employees asking people how many. I've never had Cambodian before so I was a little nervous to try something out of my comfort zone but boy was everything incredible! The salad was super tasty and the noodles were even better! Very small restaurant so you're definitely going to be on top of each other but an enjoyable experience nonetheless!

* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* ImmortalStep65, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* ImmortalStep65 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ImmortalStep65 for any questions Peter may have as ImmortalStep65 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* ImmortalStep65 now uses their connections at Mawn Philadelphia to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ImmortalStep65 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, ImmortalStep65 receives the $200 reward which is credited to ImmortalStep65's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Mawn Philadelphia!
