Good quality seafood restaurant
Small seafood restaurant behind Basilica de Santa Maria Del Mar. It’s expensive here but fish is fresh and dishes taste ok. Not hugely flavorful or creative. Friendly staff.
Good seafood restaurant
Nested in the old town and not easily found, but it is a hidden jem as a seafood restaurant. For seafood, freshness of the ingredients is the most important. Secondly, the precision of the timing control which makes the seafood tender and maintain its sweetness. This restaurant is very success in doing both of the above and thus the food is delicious. The service is fair and the restaurant is very small and you are definitely going to hear all the conversations of the table next to you.
The best seafood in Barcelona
One of the best restaurants in Barcelona. The seafood is spectacular and service is great. Fabulous wi e and amazing cheesecake.

Wow they really know what they are doing here. Amazing fish selection extremely well prepared and cooked. Great wine choice. Friendly and amiable service. Knew what they were doing. Great venue. Deserves a star for sure.
Worth a visit!
Have tried the restaurant in Madrid and thus decided to try this one in Barcelona. Ordered an omelette item on the special menu. Was told it was for 2 to share. The portion is a bit too small though. The sides are yummy. Do order the tomatoes and the asparagus to try. At the end, we ordered the vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was yummy too. Staff are friendly and attentive.
A disaster!!
One of the worst fish restaurants I have ever been to. My partner and I are travelling a lot internationally and usually trust the Guide Michelin’s recommendations, but in this case it’s totally incomprehensible to both of us how this place could make it into the guide. A rape of high-quality ingredients at an completely exaggerated price (400 Euro for two and we did not even have dessert, bubbles or a bottle of wine), tiny portions and hosting that is worse than in any canteen. Langoustine carpaccio which tries to convince with fancy presentation and which is so small that you can hardly call it an appetizer. Green asparagus with a kind of humus peanut cream that tastes like peanut butter from the discounter next door. Gamba tartar with caviar with little flavour and so small that it fits on 2 tasting spoons for 85 Euro - thank you for nothing. And then a beautiful whole turbot which we had selected at the counter and which arrived at our table so badly shredded that our hearts bled at the sight of it. Even worse was the poor filleting by the head waitress which reminded us more of a kitchen massacre. She told us that the accompanying sauce was made with “lots of love”, so our expectations were high, but after we tried we concluded that if love tastes like that, we prefer to pass. We are travelling a lot internationally and have eaten in many good restaurants, so we seriously wonder who at Guide Michelin was so drunk or blind (maybe both?) to even consider including this restaurant in the guide. For real gourmets who know something about good food and for whom no distance is too far to travel for that, this is an offence and a massive waste of money. Barcelona has so much to offer, especially from a culinary point of view, so don't waste your hard-earned money on this terrible establishment.

This was our big night out when we were in Barcelona and easily the place we spent the most. They specialize in seafood and steak. Upon entering you see the butcher station with the seafood and meat spread out for your view. It looks extremely fresh. The front smells like seafood. I personally love the salty smell of seafood, but I know some people can't stand it. Our host and waiter were very nice and accommodating. We were sitting in a little alcove a little away from everyone on our own, until more parties came creating an intimate ambiance. We received complimentary bites of fish (sardines?) with bread to start us off. Then we ordered oysters and razor clams for appetizers. I really enjoyed the oysters. They were bright, fresh, and nothing was too overcomplicated with extra flavors or overwhelming ingredients. I wasn't so much a fan of the razor clams. The texture wasn't bad at all, but the flavor fell a little flat and left a bitter taste in my mouth. For our entree we ordered the monkfish. It was very good! Keep in mind they let the flavor of the fish shine through, so it is really simple. Seafood is my favorite, so I was still able to enjoy it without the flavor complexity. My husband did not enjoy that aspect. He wasn't a fan of the fish because there wasn't a bolder flavor. I basically ate the whole fish because (to me) it was that good. Because he was disappointed with the fish, we wanted to try their beef since he had high hopes for this restaurant. We ordered steak. It was cooked very well, moist, and tender. However, once again, they let the flavor of the meat shine through on its own and didn't add a bunch of seasoning for flavor. My husband was a little disappointed with the lack of complex flavor but enjoyed the steak more than the fish because he is a steak lover. The restaurant was very expensive, but everything was cooked well and fresh. Also, they offered some unique options. Overall, I thought it was really good, but I can see how its not everyone's cup of tea.
High art in food diminished by poor service and value
We were so excited to try this based on the NYT 36 Hours in Barcelona article. The actual experience left something to be desired. First, the good part: The baby squids in their own ink were an absolute wonder - possibly the best squid I’ve ever had. The setting was professional and felt worthy of a Michelin. Also, the absolutely lovely GM who came by when the waitress was helpless was amazing. Her attitude and enthusiasm alone saved this restaurant from a 2 star rating. (She even came with a butter knife to let my wife out of the restroom which has a sticky lock). Everything else was a bit of a let down though including appetizers of bread and sardine that are brought without asking and then charged on the bill. (We don’t eat sardines.). The waitress brought one glass of wine and then the glass sat empty with not one request to refill. The table was never cleaned between courses so squid ink just sat there obviously waiting to be wiped away or to stain a shirt. The final insult was really the cost: the waitress suggested ordering HALF A KILO of protein per person. This would have been 380 euros of shrimp! We told them no thanks, we’ll start with 100 grams since we ordered so many other plates. In the end, they charged us more than 40 euros for what they brought: 2 unpeeled shrimp! Seriously. We paid nearly $50 for almost two bites of shrimp each. Really not recommended.
Appalling
Avoid this restaurant. This is the first time that I’ve ever wanted to score a zero. This seafood restaurant had run out of the majority of their fish 30 minutes after opening. At this point we should have left. Instead we ended having to pay 80 euros for 2 dried up, all shell / meatless langoustines. The female member of staff had truly appalling attitude when we raised our legitimate complaints. Aggressive and dismissive. Her passing words were ‘ hope to see you again’ Not in this lifetime or the next. Please do yourself a big favour and eat somewhere else.
If you love fish- go!
This hard to find fish restaurant in a narrow street in Born is the place to be for every fish-lover. They have a choice of sharing dishes as well as fish from the grill. Everything is very fresh and tasty with just using the necessary ingredients. The service is great and very friendly. The winelist is slightly overpriced but still ok. Try it!
Poor value
Good fish but extremely expensive: there are quite many other places in Barcelona that offer the same good, fresh, wild fish at a better price. The waiter (not a local, nor someone from the country) was unexperienced, intrusive, cearly below the good service that you get almost everywhere in the city. We were fortunate that some good, kind friends from the US invited. I'd say: go only if you do not pay or do not care for money.

Food was good, luckily our company was good, but everything else about it was absolutely unacceptable. They did comp us about 300 euros worth in a bill of 1000 - next day we found out we were bumped because of Mick Jagger - regardless horrible dining experience - didn't even get to meet Mick.

Very good, but you'll pay for it...
Charming, cozy restaurant tucked away in a small alley. Service is efficient, but not welcoming. Although the space is very inviting and warm, the general feeling from the staff doesn't match the setting. The food is excellent, but not cheap. Much of the food is sold by weight. The staff tends to gloss over the pricing, so you feel as if they're always trying to upsell you. However, we enjoyed all of our dishes (especially the squid/cuttlefish). The wine list was surprisingly not overpriced.
Worst experience ever - DO NOT GO!
Absolutely terrible experience - just about the worst experience we’ve ever had in any restaurant. If I could give a zero/negative star review, I would. Firstly, every dish is extremely overpriced for what is essentially slightly above average food. Secondly, service is ATROCIOUS. I can’t even begin to describe it. We ordered the steamed clams which came with just 8 pieces (nevermind that this dish costs €34). We had the first 2 pieces which were fine but the second 2 pieces had a huge amount of sand/grit in there. One had such a huge piece of grit that my partner sitting across the table could hear me bite down on it loud and clear. I spat the piece out and told the waitress about the issue - she took the plate away and asked if we wanted another portion as replacement which we declined. At the end of the meal, we realised they charged us for the clams even though we only ate less than half of the dish and when we disputed, the front desk staff got very nasty and aggressive, claiming that this is how fresh produce is like. Absolutely ridiculous reasoning given we’ve had clams countless times, even at roadside and market stalls, and never had such a high percentage of clams in a dish turn up so dirty. Even the clams I have to clean and cook at home are cleaner than these. Would never ever return to this restaurant (or any other restaurant opened by this chef) ever again and would never recommend this place to anybody else. If you are thinking of trying, PLEASE DO NOT. You’re better off just throwing your money down a drain - would probably be less infuriating and a much better use of time.

We went out with a bang at this amazing and intimate seafood spot.Quality: An excellent upscale seafood experience. Every dish was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The Crayfish Carpaccio despite its odd color was wonderful. The Pickled Skewers were my favorite bite of the evening. The Cantabrian Anchovies were tremendous and should not be skipped. Both the Razor Clams and the Sauteed Clams showcased flavor mastery. And the Scorpion Fish entree and how it was served was incredible.Quantity: Good size dishes.Value: Expensive.Ambiance: Estimar is a small seafood restaurant located in the El Born neighborhood of Barcelona. It is on the backroad of a backroad, so prepare some time to locate it. The inside is very small and the kitchen is built around the dining space. This puts you in the middle of the action and heavily involved in your neighbors dinner. Crowd: Extremely small space, every seat filled.Service: Exemplary.

Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* FamousStation67, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* FamousStation67 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to FamousStation67 for any questions Peter may have as FamousStation67 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* FamousStation67 now uses their connections at Estimar Barcelona to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If FamousStation67 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, FamousStation67 receives the $200 reward which is credited to FamousStation67's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Estimar Barcelona!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
