A MUST try in Philadelphia! Their food is high quality with an authentic flavor. I recently dined at El Vez with some friends who were from out of town (as we were raving about how good this place is) and the restaurant was extremely busy but a kind gentleman from their staff made a makeshift table on the sidewalk so that we could still dine with them. You can tell the workers really want all diners to have a great experience with them. Great food + great vibes = A top place to dine in my book!

I can't get enough of El Vez! The food is like a party in my mouth, and the drinks are pure magic. But let me tell you about Lola, our server - she's a smiling machine! I swear, I tested her patience with all my little requests and my husband's tardy drink orders, but she just kept on grinning. Rain or shine, she was out there serving with a smile, checking on us all night long. Lola's positive energy made our dinner extra special. Lola, send me your schedule girl! From now on I am just gonna eat there when you you are working girlie!!! Seriously, thanks to her, we'll be back for more fun and deliciousness! Just a quick note: It seemed a bit chaotic at the hostess table with so many people, which left me feeling a little confused upon arrival for my reservation. It wasn't the smoothest start to the night, but no biggie - just wanted to give you a heads up, guys!

Was a little disappointed in the food presentation at Mother's Day brunch. The service was great. A enchilada dinner had two small short rib enchiladas with no rice. Same with burritos. The food was good just portion size and the plates look bare.
No thrills and not worth the overpriced menu.
Typical Mexican food that can be found at most places for half the price. I also found the male manager a bit rude and arrogant. He apparently finds himself to be a bit more important than a restaurant manager. This trickle down effect could be the reason the overstaffed hostess stand is far from courteous. Philly has many great options. This isn't one of them.
Best nachos in Philly by far, and the frozen blood orange
Best nachos in Philly by far, and the frozen blood orange marg is perfect! I always make reservations because El Vez is popular.

Walking in you can feel the great vibe! You will notice the cool bar just as you walk in, check out the customized bike spinning on top of a collection of some good tequila. I recommend getting reservation. We did, and soon after we got there it filled up! We started off with a pitch of El Jefe Margaritas! Very Good! Then for dinner we got a pitch of their Classic El Vez also very good! For an Appetizer we had the El Vez "The Original" Guacamole, this is a must have!! For dinner I like to try different things so I got the Enchiladas Mixtas. Great choice, it included a Chicken, Shirt Rib and a black bean enchilada. All were very good, check out the pictures. Now.... Save room for the Churros.... Dang sooo good! The service was fantastic, we had 6 adults and 2 little ones and waitress was wonderful! Also, take your time and look around at the art work on the walls, so cool!

El Vez is a favorite spot to go to when in Philly for 3 days of Volleyball. Reservations help to insure you can get in. Only day we were able to just walk in without a reservation was a Sunday afternoon. The food is distinct and original. The design and decor of the restaurant is super cool and unique. Servers go above and beyond and are super helpful when narrowing down choices.
A well rated center city Philadelphia Mexican style restaurant.
My wife and I met our son here for lunch while in center city. We were never here before, but my son was. The menu is limited compared to a typical mexican type restaurant, but you'll find something on it for sure. The food was good and service was attentive as well. For a center city eatery, the prices werent that bad. However, Chips and salsa was $10.00 with refills. Asked for two small sides of Hot Sauce for the chips. The three sauces they provided were not hot or even spicy. They charged $1.00 for each little cup. Lager beer was $6.00 (not bad for the city) and the sodas were $4.00. For three adults for lunch, the bill was $87.00 before tip. They featured an old time photo booth taking the usual four photos on a strip, but its not .25 cents anymore LOL, I believe it was 3 bucks or so. Bathrooms are downstairs and there is a bathroom on the main floor for handicap ( I think).
Arrived and there were many parties being seated outside.
There were a nice amount of people inside as well. I ordered the Pink Guava Mojito ( 2x because it is delicious), El Vez "The Original" guacamole ( very good and the perfect amount of chips ), and Chicken Tacos ( you get three and they are packed with flavor). Great spot for friends to meet up and grab a bite.
Food is great.
I had the steak quesadilla and it did not disappoint. The service was great. The only thing is that we had outdoor seating and it was like eating on the sidewalk. Since I am not from Philly, that may be the way they do it there. Otherwise, everything was great.
Excellent food and service.
Five of us were there for dinner to celebrate my daughter's birthday.
Cool vibe, average fare
A very cool vibe inside and a fantastic corner location. However food and drinks were average, and it was very difficult to get the attention of our server who was mostly out of sight and not attentive.
Great lunch
We were in Philly visiting our granddaughter who is in college at UA. We enjoyed our meal here. It very good and the service was great. Yes we would recommend.
A Philly favorite
Stop here any time Iโm in Philly. The drinks and food are top notch! Iโve never spoken so highly about corn before but you really do have to try it! Everything Iโve had has been amazing. Drinks are on point. Itโs busy so plan accordingly, but highly recommend stopping.
Always a Stop During my Nights Out
I frequent El Vez quite a bit. Their Frozen Blood Orange Margaritas are to die for and I will brave drinking them even in the winter. It's always a good time here and the guacamole is always a winner for sharing a snack with friends. They do require reservations at night and it's always a way shorter wait then they will tell you so you may as well just hang out outside rather than going to a different back to wait it out.
Amy was an AMYazing Server!
Great Mexican restaurant with cozy atmosphere. We visited the light show at Macy's and then went to El Vez after for a bite to eat. Our server, Amy, was AMYazing! We are adding a visit here to our yearly light show tradition! We will be back!
Brunch Burger
I know it's weird to order a burger from a Mexican restaurant but the burger here is nearly perfect. Only available on the brunch menu which is Saturday and Sunday. The salty cheese is delicious paired with the pablano aioli. Super cool vibes and atmosphere.
Brilliant Mexican place to eat
A popular place and I can see why! The staff were very polite and friendly. Service was superb. I can safely say I had the best nachos I've ever tried and the prices were reasonable. What are you waiting for? Get yourself down there!
Guac & Crab are Musts
Love me some El Vez. Whether itโs Fort Lauderdale or Philly, I typically stop in! Repeat after meโฆ Guac with Crab ๐ฅ ๐ฆ Their opened face shrimp quesadilla is my favorite thing! Love the corn for a side.
Definately worth 5 stars!
From service to food- the whole experience was amazing. We are checking out the NYC ElVez this weekend with out of town family.

I saw such good reviews on Yelp that I had to come here with my bestie that was visiting from out of state. The food was amazing but service really sucked. Our waiter was horrible. It's a shame because it changes your entire dinner. It felt like she did not want to be there Doubt I'll come back :(
Came here for drinks and the margaritas are amazing! Great
Came here for drinks and the margaritas are amazing! Great vibes! Called for a fun Friday night!
Great tacos and guacamole and chips.
Love this place for a date night too. It's a bit tough to get a recommendations but definitely recommend

Busy on a Thursday night but we didn't have to wait long for a table without a reservation. We went for margaritas and chips and guacamole. The regular margarita on the rocks was just okay, my friends lavender margarita was good. We got each of the 5 guacamoles to try, #1- Bazooka Limon, #2- Tito Santana, #3- De La Hoya, #4- original, #5- Indian Red Lopez. Honestly I'd get any of the top 4 again and would be okay in life never having the Indian Red Lopez after I had such high hopes for it.
Stopped in after a couple of hours at the Flower Show.
We started with a Margarita and Terramana anejo, up. Warm Chips with salsa verde and Roja salsa with fresh tomato. The salsa was fresh and my wife loved the salsa verde. We asked for another cup of the salsa verde and it was brought promptly. We got Mahi Mahi tacos and Baja shrimp tacos. They were both delicious. We learned that the chef here is from Alma de Cuba which sadly is now closed. Service was great we sat at the bar as usual. Have not been to town lately for lunch but this place was heaving. It was about 1pm on a Thursday. Both bartenders were simpatico. Ambiance is a Mexican cantina. We will return when in this part of town. Mark & Nancy.

enchiladas corn, empanadas chips and salsa which are extra there. They don't come with the mill, a sangria and the churros nice atmosphere, especially if you sit on the red side. Good service. Would come back again.

Great ambiance, guac, and drinks! Food is not very good and sometimes inconsistent. I do love the customer service and organization!
Very dark busy restaurant with limited options on the menu.
I went simple with the Baja shrimp tacos. I have never been so sick after eating out. I was sick all night and threw up what I ate. How can something so simple go so bad.

We were walking around getting to know the area where our hotel was and ended up here because it was busy and the menu looked good and we were not disappointed the staff was really nice we were seated right away our server was kind enough to give us his recommendations which were divine full of flavor the place itself is dark but cute and romantic if you happen to walk by this place do not hesitate or question it... Go in it's that good

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to El Vez Philadelphia at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the El Vez Philadelphia page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.

* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* EternalAnt36, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* EternalAnt36 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to EternalAnt36 for any questions Peter may have as EternalAnt36 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
