Duck and Waffle Reviews from The Last Year
We had wonderful experience celebrating our wedding
We had wonderful experience celebrating our wedding anniversary. The lamb and truffle mashed potatoes were divine. Great panoramic views of London. Will be coming back again. Thank you!
Great food and better service thanks to Paolo
I’ve just had a very enjoyable business lunch at Duck and Waffle. Food was fantastic and the service even better. Big shout out to Paolo. Very attentive, on the ball and discreet waiter. As they say great service can elevate food and the whole experience and he certainly did that. 5 star service. 5 star food.
Breakfast with a view
My boyfriend and I decided to give duck and waffle a try after seeing many videos about it online. We booked a table for 6am, our table wasn’t ready so we enjoyed the views for the bar because quickly being seated with an apology as the manager was finding us the most perfect table for our anniversary. The views from the table were beautiful! The service was a little hit and miss as we waited over 30 minutes to have someone take our order, there was only 3 other tables so not sure what the wait was about. I then had my drink forgotten and finally got it half way through my meal. The waiter took it off the bill and continuously apologised. Even thought this wasn’t ideal it was a lovely breakfast and the staff were kind and lovely when acknowledging our anniversary. It was good to see the chefs cooking as well and waved goodbye as we left. We can’t wait to go back again and try some cocktails and dinner
Fab!
Delightful! Arrived a bit early and was accommodated in the bar where the cocktails were very tasty. In the restaurant the veggie roast was very tasty; staff were friendly and attentive. Would very much recommend.
Average
Very average, quick turn over food with big price tags. Goes on it's name and the fact that it's 40 stories up rather than quality. Had a better meal in one of the typical London pubs on the street corner. Shame because we were really looking forward to it.
Great Brunch!
This was a great spot for brunch. We sat in the bar area, and even though it was a rainy day we had a great view. The quality of the food pleasantly surprised us as we wondered if it might be a place you go to for the view rather than the food. Everything had great flavor and was well prepared. We had the duck barbacoa tacos, the cheesy polenta croquetas, the bacon wrapped dates, and of course the duck and waffle. The duck was perfectly cooked, and though the waffle was a bit dense we enjoyed the dish. I would recommend this restaurant to others spending time in London!
Loved the views! We didn't have a reservation for
Loved the views! We didn't have a reservation for breakfast, but they seated us at the perimeter bar.....which was probably better. The views! We LOVED our breakfasts. Delicious and beautiful.
Our second visit but not returning for some time after this one
Visited here recently. Amazing views. Service quite poor. Felt our waiter rushed us and had no time for us, he didn’t bother to ask if we wanted additions to our brunch. Food was nice but portions were very small.
First time in London and the location and views of the city
First time in London and the location and views of the city on the 40th floor was awesome. The service and staff were friendly and accommodating at ~8:45 am. The food was presentable and delicious to taste. The kitchen is visible to the patron floor so you can see the chef & cooks prepare your plates while you dine which I think is pretty classy for a diner. This restaurant is a 24 hour restaurant and making a reservation is highly recommended if not required.
Fantastic
Fantastic views and food. Great atmosphere , lovely food while overlooking London. Great background music, very nice.
First, the location is amazing.
30th floor of the Heron building with a glass elevator ride straight up. Service was excellent & we were seated in a comfortable booth with great views. We made reservations. I can't stress enough you have to do this in London. The service was very good, my glass was never empty, and our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable & attentive. But not too attentive if you know what I mean... it was genuine. We felt like the four of us were sitting on top of the world enjoying delicious food and drinks We started with a perfect Hendricks martini for me (a first for this London trip!) and a bottle of wine (I can't remember). We shared all the plates: House bread, Foie Gras Creme Brulee, King Prawns, grilled octopus and caesar salad. We followed up with the duck and waffle, and roasted rum of welsh lamb. Plenty for everyone to share & enjoy. We only had a little room left for the lemon meringue tart! Everything was great including the glass elevator up & down, fun!
Fabulous views and food
Greeted by a very polite staff member and shown to the lift. 40 floors by the open lift was spectacular. Sat in the bar area for the informal feeling as it was late afternoon. Pleasant waiter. Amazing food and very tasty along with the cocktails. My only fault is that no one came to check if our food was ok. For a high end restaurant this is why I rated it a 4. Would perhaps recommend a table in the restaurant for better customer service.
Birthday breakfast
This was our 2nd visit to Duck & Waffle and it was just as good as the 1st time. We went for breakfast, we had our table booked for 10am we arrived a little early but got showed to our table straight away. We ordered a cocktail each, a tea and a coffee, I had porridge (which was huge) it wasn’t just porridge, it also had granola, banana & dates. My husband had a full English breakfast. It’s definitely worth every penny. Can’t wait for our next visit.
Amazing views of London along with creative drinks and good food!
Amazing view of London including the gherkin. The drinks were creative and good! The duck and waffle had crispy and juicy duck (the best we have ever had). The burgers were very good as well.
Stopped here on vacation.
You NEED to make a reservation beforehand. The restaurant is on the top floor of a high rise and the views are phenomenal. The food was good, not 5 stars, but I would give it a 4 to 4.5. Either way this is a must go to spot for the experience overall.
The much-lauded Duck & Waffle's food is nothing short of
The much-lauded Duck & Waffle's food is nothing short of mediocre & grossly overly priced. I cannot stress how disappointing this was after all the reviews I had read and high hopes for a fabulous meal high in the sky. My family and I had an early breakfast where we observed cooked eggs for Eggs Benedict at their station not even under a heat lamp. We began with coffee; mine was a standard filter coffee of around 4 oz., and truly undrinkable. Our food arrived lukewarm. My duck leg was gravely overcooked, stringy, and consisting of only a few bites of meat; the half waffle limp. All of this for 26 Quid. The duck egg was the only thing cooked properly. The Elvis, which the table shared, was a sugar and fat bomb consisting of caramelized bananas, some berries, and large blobs of clotted cream, covered in burnt crumbs of something or other. Really appalling. Even to get a reservation, they force you to provide a 20 quid deposit per guest in advance. The women's restroom lacked toilet paper even at 8 AM and still at 9:30 when we tried to leave, and when a patron and I notified the host, she did nothing about it, forcing us to ask someone from the men's room for a roll. The views are stunning, so if you are with a great group of folks, you may not care that the cocktails are seriously overpriced and the food just barely tolerable.
Make reservations so you don't miss out.
If you're lucky like we were and have good weather you will be gobsmacked by the view. 40 floors up! The food was so good. I was surprise how much we liked the Ox Cheek Apricot Donut. The signature duck and waffle is very tasty. I'm not a huge fan of duck but this was lean and well prepared. The Pavlova dessert was delish too. Our waiter was a hoot. We had a great time.
Popped into this place for a bite after being suggested by
Popped into this place for a bite after being suggested by my hotel. Firstly, it's definitely on the beaten path but only if you know where to look. The location is inside of an office building that houses Sales Force as the main tenant. The restaurant has its own entrance and shares it with a sushi restaurant. There is no signage. Once inside, take the elevator to the top floor after being greeted by the person at the front. Once up top, walk the long hall to another podium. Yep, it's definitely a journey. I didn't have a reservation, but they seated me pretty quickly on a Friday around noontime. Now service in the UK isn't like service in the states. I didn't seem to matter that I was there, so don't expect much in the way of service. Let's move to the food. I ordered the polenta croquette and the smoked salmon Caesar salad. The croquette was out of this world. A cheese lovers dream and the black truffle mayo was definitely the standout. I ordered two more, ha! The salad was pretty standard. The salmon was ok. A bit salty which can happen when it's smoked. But nothing really special here. All in all, it was a pretty standard experience. Nothing I would seek out on my next trip to London. But not bad if you have the time to pop in.
Wonderful 24/7 spot for go-to duck-infused brunch or
Wonderful 24/7 spot for go-to duck-infused brunch or cocktails. We stumbled upon the amazing views by night after closure of most bars (11pm on a weekday in London). After sitting there enjoying the views and sipping on some tasty cocktails, we decided to make a reservation and have breakfast the day after. The view by day definitely also didn't disappoint. We were seated by the window (which got incredibly hot on a sunny yet not-so-warm June morning, so be aware), and ordered the signature duck dishes: duck & waffles (aka a take on chicken & waffles with fried duck leg and a duck egg) and duck benedict, which surprised all of us by offering pulled duck served on a waffle, with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce on top).

Blown away by D&W in every way
For an unreal experience go here at c5am and watch the sunrise. We got the beauty of London in the dark and the sunrise. The sunrise wasn’t great in the end but, wow, what a trip…. Lenny and manager gave WORLD class service. They were so efficient, charming and friendly. This made such a difference to overall experience. You guys are lovely and doing an awesome job. Thanks for giving us the best table. The setting and lift ride - goes without saying this is special setting. The food wildly exceeded expectations crem brûlée foie gras…..woah.the bacon dates…,woah. Honestly do the early morning visit for an experience to remember. I’ll be back xxx
Great food, amazing service ☺️
I went to D&W at around midnight with my wife and this was our 3rd or 4th visit. Lenn, our waiter was absolutely amazing and super friendly from the start. He made our visit this time the best one yet by being very accommodating, personable, and relatable. We came for the late night food, but would absolutely come back again for the great service too. 10/10 recommend
Friday night dinner for one!
Prabin and his team were out of this world hosting me. Food was divine, recommendations stellar. Great ambience and will most definitely be back.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Now this is a place NOT to miss while in London. We were a group of 4 and we all agreed we had the best food we could have ever imagined! the city lights in the eveing ,the food that was to die for and the service so polite and helpful! Thank you all for one of the best night we had lately! ❤️
Absolutely amazing
Absolutely amazing tried the rib-eye and definitely coming back it went perfectly with the peppercorn sauce and the service was spectacular didn’t haft to raise my hand once and my glasses was always full
Great view and a lovely experience.
Like all great restaurants with a view, you are paying for the view rather than the quality of the food. However, it was an amazing view and over priced food was ok.
Had a great post red eye brunch at Duck and Waffle.
The food was delicious and the view of the city spectacular. Our server, Laura, was a delight. She gave us all the menu highlights and was so attentive to my partner's nut allergy. It was a lovely experience and a great way to kick off our London trip.
Amazing Service, Amazing Atmosphere!
I had an incredible experience at Duck and Waffle! The manager was extremely accommodating to our dietary needs and made fantastic recommendations. The service was impeccable, especially considering it was 3 am for a late-night birthday munch! Our server was wonderful, providing quick service with great views and vibes. Plus, they surprised us with cute birthday brownies, adding an extra special touch to the night. Highly recommend for any late-night cravings or special occasions!
Disappointing service, food was good
Very disappointed in the level of service. Had a 9:30 am reservation but had to wait in the bar area over 15 minutes the bar area yet were unable to order any drinks while we waited for a table. Then, after our server took our orders, we never saw him again... were unable to order any additional drinks or dessert. Had to flag down THREE different servers asking for our bill before finally grabbing a manager. Took over 30 minutes just to get our bill. Restaurant was not very busy for a Saturday- many open tables. As for the dress code- much more casual than we were expecting. Many people in trainers, crop tops, etc. Had the duck Benedict, duck & waffle and eggs Florentine.
Wonderful restaurant
Wonderful and unique restaurant to experience on a visit to London, brilliant food and exceptional service! Will visit again soon
Outstanding.
Wasn't too sure about duck and waffles as a concept but I am a convert. 40th floor affords great views. We hit a good and foggy Sunday morning (I was upset with my husband for making me have breakfast at 8 am on a Sunday) but it was still nice view. We both ordered the special duck with waddle fried duck egg and maple mustard syrup. Syrup had only a mild mustard seed taste. The duck confit was incredible. Juicey moist and crispy. Waffle was crispy and delicious. Had a cheese scone and Victoria sausage neither of which I would have again as they weren't special. All In all very delightful and delicious. I would recommend and would definitely go again when I am in town. Also had a very nice server. Make reservation in advance a mandate. Requires 60 pound deposit so people won't no show. .

This is definitely the place to be! Whether you're having a party or an intimate dinner. The food is delicious & the atmosphere is incredible with a view from the 40th floor!

Amazing food and service - this our favorite place to go when we are in London. I highly recommend anyone visiting to enjoy a lunch or dinner here. Friendly staff, nice ambience, and great food.
The food, service, and views were great.
It was our first dinner in London. My daughter said the mac n cheese was amazing. I enjoyed the croqueta and rosemary bread.
Great view from 40th floor.
We had duck wanna be and waffle, egg spinach florentine, it was good. Decently prices also.
A surprisingly good restaurant, with astonishing view of
A surprisingly good restaurant, with astonishing view of London. Their signature dish Duck and Waffle is indeed a must try, the yolk of the duck egg tastes good with velvety texture, duck skin is very crispy and serves well with syrup. Roasted lamb was juicy and tender, perfectly cooked. Finally a good British cuisine. Services is great
We were looking for a decent place for brunch & came across
We were looking for a decent place for brunch & came across this place. We had no rsvp but were lucky enough to be seated upstairs right by the window .. what a great view! Drinks, I had a Paloma it was very good nice taste, decent amount of alcohol Hubby had a Ristrello Negroni this was good as well our drinks for the duration. Food we decided to try a few items to start we got the Corn ribs , so good great tasting sauce. Next the Cheesy Polenta Croquettes were delicious, great taste. Also had the Duck sliders, they were very good as well nice taste to the meat. & finally the Duck & waffle, nice twist this dish it was a very good combo good meat, waffle & topped with the egg was just the right amount of flavor, it would have been nice if they gave u a full waffle. Somehow we had room for dessert & got the Lemon & Vanilla baked cheesecake, lordd all mighty that was delicious! Nice bar area upstairs, good music playing , funky decor & really nice views. Service was good, price wise on the high side but doable everything we had was very good, we had a nice brunch & enjoyed our time here.

The combination of delectable cuisine and the stunning scenery creates a truly memorable dining atmosphere. The ambience is elegant, making it a perfect spot for those seeking a delightful culinary journey with a picturesque backdrop. Duck & Waffle is undoubtedly a top choice for a special dining experience.
