Mandatory lunch as a tourist
We waited 1 hour to be seated as it was on a weekend. As a first-timer in Taiwan we just had to try and see the difference in taste and quality, but we were pleasantly surprised as everything we ordered tastes exactly as what they serve in Dubai, except they have pork options.
Be the first to ReplyFriendly Nice service
Very nice friendly staff, always smiling and always pack with people. Still the same taste after a year going there. Nice service.
Be the first to ReplyFood was great!
The food was great and delicious. Service was good but somehow, as it was quite busy (as it was a public holiday in Taiwan), would take time to ask someone for help. Tricky, you should have to arrive earlier, at least 30 minutes before the store opens to get the ticket; otherwise you might have to wait more than an hour!
Be the first to ReplyThe best Xiao Long Bao
The best Xiao Long Bao I ever had is at Din Tai Fung. The quality is very consistent and always good. Service is always good but could be a bit slow depending on how busy it is at the time. Highly recommend this restaurant chain and this location. While waiting for my table, I could always do my shopping which is plenty to choose from.

The dumblings are always wonderful, the starters too with the little cucumbers and eggplants, the big buns etc... Everything is clean and prepared in front of you. The 101 din tan is the best in Taipei
Be the first to ReplyExcellence no matter the location
I have already visited their location in Singapore and was looking forward to eating there. I was not disappointed. The dumplings were excellent and the side dishes were great as well. The service was outstanding and the food arrived quickly. They were using robots to deliver the food. It was fun watching the robots run around. The only negative was the Hot & Sour soup. It was terrible. Canned soup would have tasted better.
Be the first to ReplyNot Worth the Long Wait!
Din Tai Fung is a Taiwanese restaurant chain most famous for its xiaolongbao (steamed pork dumplings). Although the 101 branch officially opens at 11am, the wait for a table at 10:45am is approximately 1 hour! Customers can pre-order their food online while waiting in the mall area. Servers are accommodating. Food is delivered by a meal-bot, which is very efficient. However, the poor quality definitely is not worth waiting for. Signature dishes are not impressive at all! The skin of the various xiaolongbaos is very thick and a tad bit dry. Noodles are lukewarm. The smooth and flavourful House Special Spicy Vegetable and Ground Pork Wontons (NT 180) is the only recommendable dish.
Be the first to ReplyIt's a loooong wait
We arrived at 5 pm to queue for a dinner table. Apparently we weren't early enough and we waited nearly 2 hours. Food ranged from ok to good. Not outstanding. We were ravenous so we were able to order a great variety of dishes. Must order dishes include siu long bao and beef noodles. Being a very busy restaurant, expect lots of noise and movement around you. After the long wait, our mobile phones were out of juice. We brought a charger but the restaurant refused to charge for us because there's an adapter attached to the non-Taiwanese plug. And no charging if you didn't bring your own charger. We are tourists so.... no recharging phones and no Google maps after that.

Din Tai Fung remains a go-to for their famed xiao long bao (soup dumplings). Bird's Nest Fern Stir Fry This unique dish was a revelation. The fern fronds had a surprisingly satisfyingly crisp texture, perfectly complementing the savory stir-fry sauce. If you're adventurous and enjoy exploring new flavors, this is a must-try!
Be the first to ReplyGreat Quick Bite
Stopped here for a quick snack after visiting the observation deck above. Located on lower level, our guide recommended and it didn’t disappoint. They have a display that shows wait time for seating, which can be quite long. To left there is takeout counter with a separate wait time (perhaps a little hard to see) and menus in English. There is a food court adjacent where you can then sit down.

Be the first to ReplyExcellent food at Taipei 101
Excellent food in this restaurant. Don’t take reservations; make sure you budget for an hour between giving your name and getting a seat. Fortunately the shopping mall provides a lot of entertainment while you wait. The food is for sharing and all very good. Have the chocolate dessert! The service is excellent. Highly recommend.

Great xiao long bao, Delicious food and comfortable service.
It’s a wonderful experience to dine here. Delicious food
Fine dining in Taipei's tallest building
Din Tai Fung is famous for fine dining, without the expensive price tag. Taipei 101 is the tallest building in Taiwan, and remains one of the tallest buildings in the world. Din Tai Fung's specialty is dumplings, especially the shao lung bao, which originated in Shanghai. Remember to nibble the casing of the dumpling, then such out the broth. It's very hot, so be careful.
Be the first to ReplyGreat XLBs Must eat in Taipei
Great xiao long baos, piping hot
Also liked the crispy prawn cake along with spicy dumplings. Highly recommended when in Taipei
Love it!
Always enjoy the meal here, and the decoration of this 101 branch is brilliant.
Every time you visited here every spot is clean and you can especially check the pendant light cover if crystal, I check every time and yes, it is.
The dishes you order will please your stomach and feel satisfied with the flavor, the taste and the display. You are highly recommended to 101 for shopping and great meals.
DUMPLING DEPOT
With many branches all over the world, is Din Tai Fung is really that good? We headed for Taipei to check out their Xiao Long Bao.
Din Tai Fung, Taipei 101 branch accepts reservations for tour groups only with everyone on a first come, first serve basis.
Ambience:
Outside the restaurant the excitement grows and the large crowds of friends and family gathered. The queue zigzag back and forth in front of the store with a ling wait. We had a short wait of 15 minutes. We were a tour group.
Once inside the restaurant, the atmosphere was calmer as diners concentrate on ordering the large variety of dim sum menu.
The decor is basically white walls and ceilings with recessed lighting and naturally wood paneling. It represents a professional atmosphere and clean look.
Food & Beverage:
The tour group has a pre-set menu included (1) Tofu & Seaweed Salad, (2) Sweet & Sour Soup, (3)Spicy Wonton, (4) Xiao Long Bao, (5) Fish Dumpling, (6) Shrimp Dumpling, (7) Vegetable Dumpling, (8) Fried Egg Fried Rice, (9) Chopped Pea Shoots, and (10) Red Bean Dessert Dumpling.
Xiao Ling Bao lived up to its reputation. The dumpling skin was delicate and thin with the 18 pinch folds trademark. Delicious soup inside the dumpling and the meat was tasty.
The were sufficient dishes for the vegetarian in the crowd. Vegetable Dumpling was excellent and tasty.
Since our party was 16 in our tour group, we had several pots of tea as well as boiled water.
Service:
Once everyone was seated, the procession of the dim sum came out so fast and the lazy Susie serving table was spinning even faster, one blink of an eye and the food passed you by. So the only picture I was able to get was the world famous Xiao Long Bao.
The servers would announce the dish aloud. The severs came around frequently to refill the teapots.
While the Hong Kong branch of Din Tai Fung was awarded the Michelin star, the Taipei 101 branch had good quality control and standards. So many varieties of dumplings it was like a DUMPLING DEPOT ... at Din Tai Fung (Taipei 101 Branch).
