Dined here last night everything was fresh and delicious
Dined here last night everything was fresh and delicious food. The service our waitress provided was top notch she was very efficient and attentive! The ambiance was great we had a nice table and the temperature in the room was pleasant! We always come here at least once when we are in town and it never disappoints! We had the chopped salad with grilled shrimp and the Ahi tuna special!!
Always great.
Love this place for lunch or dinner. The dining room is spacious and comfortable. Menu has plenty of choices. Food is always fresh, tasty and well prepared. My last visit, I had a burger and creamed spinach. Great value.
awesome but pricey
We were in town playing golf and had to have a NY strip. We were quickly seated at the end of the bar which was perfect. The bartender was great, he seemed to know what we needed before we did. The bread and salad (it was huge!) came quickly and they were excellent. The presentation of the steak was nice with the monogrammed plate and orchid and was perfectly cooked. And it did not disappoint either. A bit pricey but well worth it.
This pains me to write, as it is a beautiful restaurant
This pains me to write, as it is a beautiful restaurant with excellent service. The food was shockingly subpar, especially for the price. My friend ordered the crab cakes that were huge, but accompanied by plain cubed breakfast potatoes that you see at a cheap motel. No sauce, o seasoning. The brussel sprouts - overcooked mush, highly disappointing. Tenderloin Medallions - I can't. Small filets with the same breakfast potatoes, but at least it was mixed with greens. Chopped salad with filet - delicious, but one of the filets had brussel running through it.. Shocking that it's the same amount of meat as the above, at a much less cost. Ordered a tall vodka, came out like a short double. Beautiful restaurant, sad about the food.
No Service
I went for a late lunch yesterday and was seated quickly. I was told someone would be by to take my drink order soon. There were only 2 other parties in the dining area. I waited 25 minutes for someone to take my drink order and that never happened. So i went back to the hostess stand to see what was going on. I waited there 5 min and no one walked up and I walked out. Pretty sad when you're trying to give away money and they don't want it...
Fantastic atmosphere.
Peaceful business lunch. Service was professional and friendly. And the food was delicious. Will definitely return. AND that chocolate cake is dangerously yummy along with the chocolate ice cream ball. Definitely going back. Bravo!
Dinner Date
Let me start by saying our server was wonderful and very attentive. I ordered a NY strip , my friend ordered a ribeye. My NY strip was cooked medium and it was cooked correctly. The meat was so tough , I did not enjoy it at all. The baked potato and green beans were good. When you pay $55 for a steak you expect it to be better than Longhorn etc and this was not .
The evening went well except for the food.
Way over-priced for what was served. The "aged" ribeye tasted no different than the "normal" one. I selected based on the server's commitment it would be awesome. In fact, it was chewy with ligaments. 20-30% was inedible. I actually thought the normal one was better. I have had better at Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn. For a $150 bill, nothing special. Sad, we do not have a restaurant that serves true PRIME beef.
Very slow lunch crowd on 2-28-24, my friend's crab cake
Very slow lunch crowd on 2-28-24, my friend's crab cake sandwich was obviously microwaved and was still cold in the middle. Sent it back, meanwhile my lunch had came. I was finished eating before his remade sandwich arrived. $100 meal with drinks - never had a manager visit our table to apologize, no discount or complimentary dessert offered. Very poor response to our entire lunch ruined by the kitchen - that a manager didn't try to make it right is inexcusable.
went to Chop House this past Saturday night
went to Chop House this past Saturday night 2/24/2024 service was slow took and hour and half to get our food for a table of 4
Steaks over priced for poor quality.
So wife and I visited with reservations the Friday after Valentines day, we still waited a bit for our table, didn't feel like it was that busy. We were seated in the back room, which kind of felt isolated from the main restaurant. None of that was bad, I would say first impression was just average. Service was slow, but the real problem was the food. We both got the chop salad which was really good, but a $12 salad should be good, right. The main issue was the quality, seasoning and taste of the steak, we both got the ribeye, order med, took 40 min after the salad to get our steaks and the wife's was way under cooked (raw) in the middle, took another 5min or so for someone to come check on us so we could send back for some more cooking. Mine was cooked perfect but, neither had any seasoning and the quality of the steak was not what you would expect from a $50 piece of meat. We both commented on how both ribeye's were touch and really not very good. We have had way better steaks at lower cost chain steak houses. For the price and service we will not go back.

This special was a little heavy for my taste, but exactly as communicated, and still very good. The cider wasn't too sweet and the service was impeccable!
Good Food. Terrible service!!!
We booked a table for 3 for Thursday night even though the restaurant was not busy. The reservation noted this was a birthday dinner. When we arrived this was not acknowledged. We were seated in a booth near the entrance. We sat there for 15 minutes being ignored by the wait staff. Finally my son told the hostess who then went to the servers who were just standing around shooting the breeze. The server who came to take care of us informed us that no one was assigned to this table. ??? She then proceeded to take our drink order. They have a list of specialty cocktails and my son ordered one. She came back and stated they were missing an ingredient and couldn't make the drink as ordered and to choose another. She took our orders and the meal service was good. The food (two steaks and a lobster tail) was prepared as ordered and was very good. At least the kitchen had their act together. We were going to order a desert to share but our server disappeared. Again, we waited for 15 minutes before I finally went to the manager (also shooting the breeze) and told him we wanted to pay our bill. Usually, most high end restaurant managers check with you to see how the dinner went. Not this guy. I like this place and hate giving a poor rating but paying over $300 I expect top notch service. It didn't happen tonight.
My Birthday
I Absolutely forgot how awesome this restaurant is! The food was amazing! Renee was our server, and she was outstanding! Her recommendations were excellent. If you haven't been you must visit...prices are a little high, but you get what you pay for!!!
Food was OK.
Nothing to brag about considering the prices. Service was wonderful!! The ambiance was OK. What got me was that I made a reservation through Open Table for 3 people at 6:45. Not being one to be ever late, my party arrived at 6:15 and was seated right away, Upon my return home, I received, what I consider, a nasty email from Open Table stating that I did not keep my reservation. I responded that I did and would never use Open Table again. Got so Incensed over it that I called the restaurant and left a message that I would not set foot in the restaurant again. Also sent another reply to Open Table. The more I think about it, when I see the charge on my credit card, I will dispute it since I wasn't there!!
Ok
Nice and beautiful place, good service but a bit expensive. I asked for the caesar salad that was good but nothing special. The price of meat and seafood was very high.
Not at all what it once was.
Food was pretty good. Service was fairly slow. Overall, not worth the money spent for a fine dinning experience. Plenty of other places to choose from, go elsewhere.
This has been our secret gem for years! Great service,
This has been our secret gem for years! Great service, great food, great drink selections! Went tonight on a whim and was incredibly let down. Our server was wonderful, absolutely no complaints in that department at all! I ordered a 12oz Ribeye MR, my boyfriend ordered a 12oz Filet Med. His came out MR-rare..which he dealt with. Mine came out almost WD. I politely sent it back (I've been in the food industry for 23 years), and it came back cooked perfectly. My biggest complaint is that it was NOT a Ribeye! They are trying to pass off a cheaper cut for Ribeye. What happened to this place??? We have never been more sad to see a restaurant let us down! This was our place! Even the loaded baked potato that my boyfriend had as a side is better AND cheaper at Wendy's! Our only saving grace was the Quilt Napa Valley bottle of wine we ordered!
Service and food are both wonderful.
I really enjoyed what I had and that was the mushroom soup and a burger. My server, Te'Kora was so friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this place to anybody!
This restaurant has gone downhill.
We were so disappointed. Had better steak at a truck stop.

We had a reservation for 8:00PM for 8, we arrived fifteen minutes early and were seated immediately. Goodness words cannot describe how absolutely amazing of a server Bryan was, constantly making sure we're attended to and have everything seriously went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful dining experience and by far one of the better dinners I've had. We will be back. All the food everyone got was correct & perfect!
Exceptional Hospitality!!!
My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at the Chophouse and I must say, the entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the very moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warm and welcoming hospitality from the attentive servers, which set the tone for the rest of the evening. To start off our meal, we indulged in a few delectable appetizers that included a divine sashimi tuna, a succulent crab cocktail, and a savory shrimp cocktail. We also relished a Caesar salad that was a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The attention to detail in every dish was remarkable and it was evident that each was carefully crafted with the utmost care and precision. For our entrée, we opted to share the mouthwatering ribeye with perfectly grilled asparagus and creamy mashed potatoes. The dish was cooked to perfection, with the meat being tender and juicy, and the sides complementing the flavors of the meat beautifully. It was a symphony of flavors that left us utterly satisfied. Throughout our meal, we were thoroughly impressed with the exceptional attention to detail that the Chophouse's kitchen and staff demonstrated. It was clear that they had taken great care in crafting a menu that would delight and excite their guests. The hospitality and service we received were top-notch and elevated the dining experience to new heights. We left feeling utterly contented and can't wait for our next visit to the Chophouse. If you're searching for a place to indulge in a truly exceptional dining experience, the Chophouse is an excellent choice.
Great surprise, last minute when all other places had 45
Great surprise, last minute when all other places had 45 minute waits, the chopt house had no wait. And they did not disappoint,Everything was great, service, food and atmosphere.
Been coming here once a year for the last decade.
Food and menu have improved over that time. Had the 10 oz filet with asparagus and hollandaise. Excellent. The service was very good. My friend's crab cakes looked wonderful, but I did not taste them. Recommended.

I used to come here a lot growing up because it was my mom's favorite restaurant but it's changed a lot over the years. The food is ok and the decor is a little outdated. I feel bad for the employees because they really try hard to make it better but it's not at the top of my list of places to dine at.
Dinner
The food is really good. The portions are very small. The server!!! Horrible. We did not get bread, she forgot the tea, she put the order wrong. With those prices, service should be excellent. One bad server ruins everything.
My first time there.
The atmosphere -casual, very clean and the staff and management was very attentive. We were celebrating my son's birthday, they brought him a little cake and we sang. Had a few drinks with dinner and truly enjoyed ourselves. This is not a place I can come to frequently, but can make it for special occasions. I shall return!
Not what it use to be!
I have eaten at the Chop House Restaurants ever since the first one on Holden Road and closed years ago. I have eaten at the Mendenhall locations 20 times over the years. Visited on 10-14-22 to celebrate a friends birthday. Service on a 1-5 scale was maybe a 3. Filet on a scale 1 to 5 was a 1. The only thing that was really good was the chocolate cake we had for the birthday girl. I don't understand how a restaurant thinks they can serve a Golden Cornell grade steak and charge $55.00 for six ounce filet and expect to have repeat customers and stay in business. It sad because at one time you could not get a better steak or have better service. I will not return and if you go don't expect much except a overpriced bill.

The waitress was great! The management staff appeared to be great as well. The food was subpar and overpriced. When you think of the Chophouse you think fine dining but it was more casual dining with fine dining prices. Our steak was fatty. The French fries were over cooked. I think the food needs as upgrade.
