Casa Tua Aspen Reviews
Amazing location, beautiful restaurant but the worst staff.
Our server quite obviously judged us immediately and made us feel less than. She would hardly look at us. She never came to ask how our me was. She told everyone around us the specials except us. Overrated IMO.
Great food for a special dinner.
Right across the pedestrian area from our hotel (Independence Square Hotel). We sat in their nice outdoor seating area. The Italian food was exceptional, and the service was good. I had the trout, another in my party had the house made pasta, I don't think you could go wrong with anything. We did not have a reservation, but they accommodated our party of four (we ate early). I'd recommend a reservation though, every night we were in Aspen they were very busy. This is an expensive restaurant, but not out of whack with other high end restaurants in Aspen. For a special meal I'd recommend.
FANTASTIC FOOD and SERVICE from the waiter - 5
FANTASTIC FOOD and SERVICE from the waiter - 5 stars TERRIBLE hostess - 1 star We really wanted to eat here and were turned away rudely by the hostess even though it was dead - then we decided to just overcome her and sit and we're glad we did - just go here and don't worry about the bs at the host stand
Everything.
The food, the staff, the feel was spot on. Our first Casa Tua meal was on Miami Beach early 2002 and other than on MB we ate outdoors on a warm night and Aspen it was indoors in a June snow, these are gems.

Here for late lunch, really enjoyed the service and the food. The bolognese was really good, avocado quinoa salad was awesome, the wagyu burger, although not real wagyu, was pretty good and the mushroom truffle pasta was really good. We enjoyed our experience and would happily return.
Celebrating our anniversary!
Delicious food, amazing service. We enjoyed our dinner. The caccio pepe pasta was my favorite and the burrata entree too!
Pricy but good wine list, tasty food and good service.
Risotto was an mis but regular pasta dishes were delicious.
Casa Tua never disappoints.
Just returned from a trip to Aspen and the service here is unmatched. Great food and decor. My wife loves this place.
Casa tua was amazing! The restaurant is pretty large inside
Casa tua was amazing! The restaurant is pretty large inside but still felt very intimate for a birthday dinner. The log cabin and lights is charming right in the heart of Aspen walking distance from all hotels and the slopes. Not pictured was the home made bolognese because we ate it so fast!! It was our favorite item we tried! Definitely get this! The beef carpaccio was flavorful and nice. The steak was cooked perfectly for my taste and the foie gras ontop was delicious and made the entre stand out from other beef tenderloins! A nice twist we loved. Even though the restaurant was packed the hostess was very nice and accommodating and helpful when we arrived a little before our reservation.
This place was awesome! Very comfortable but romantic vibe!
This place was awesome! Very comfortable but romantic vibe! The service was absolutely amazing! & I definitely recommend the Branzino and for dessert the pistachio gelato.
The food was absolutely delicious and the serving size
The food was absolutely delicious and the serving size portions were very generous, we actually took part of our meal home to enjoy the next day. The wait staff and sommelier were amazing and made the experience a wonderful evening. This is the 5th time we have dined at Casa Tua Aspen and we are never disappointed. Thank you for continuing to serve great food in a beautiful atmosphere with caring staff. We appreciate you..
Terrible service by Manuel.
We were in Aspen for a bachelorette party and I had booked months in advance. All they do is try to upsell you on the food and drinks. The food wasn't great and the staff just stood around and stared at us. Don't go here.

Never leave bad reviews, but I felt very inclined to & wanted to warn others -- Honestly this restaurant isn't even worth the headache you will encounter with the several calls from the managers and staff. We made a reservation here for my whole family a month in advance for NYE to not be even notified of a cancellation that one of their employees who no longer works there did. The only reason I found out it was cancelled was a day before I tried to modify the reservation to less people and it said your reservation has been cancelled. After 2 in person confirmations from the nice general manager, to receiving a call and notification on the day of NYE from another manager that your reservation is cancelled and not confirmed. Also, for them to tell you that they have a $280 price fixed menu day of. Extremely unhappy and dissatisfied with this experience. Have dined here in the past and would recommend eating elsewhere.

Not the most constructive review, but the food was simply not to par. Ingredients were good but execution was disappointing. Service however was great!
Such a Disappointing Dining Experience at Casa Tua I
Such a Disappointing Dining Experience at Casa Tua I recently dined at Casa Tua and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Although the arugula salad was a highlight, the vegetarian tomato basil maccheroni pasta was a letdown. The first attempt was undercooked, and even after a replacement, the second serving was undercooked too we could not chew it & it lacked flavor. To make matters worse, the addition of truffle, unbeknownst to us, incurred an exorbitant $100 charge. The overall ambiance left much to be desired, and it seemed evident that the restaurant prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction. The lack of care for patrons' dining experience was apparent, making it clear that Casa Tua may prioritize monetary gains over providing a quality dining experience. Proceed with caution if considering a visit to this restaurant.
We had a wonderful dinner at Casa Tua.
Service and recommendations from our server were great and loved how all the pastas are made fresh in house. The cocktails were wonderful and the restaurant is extremely inviting and cozy. Expensive as to expect for Aspen. The only negative I have is how close all the tables are put together.
Had a large group dinner one evening and it did not
Had a large group dinner one evening and it did not disappoint at all. Loved it! Here are my takeaways: Environment Beautiful and intimate space. Since I was with a large group we were able to dine upstairs where I learned is usually reserved for members and large events. It was beautiful with low lights and a great ambiance. Great for a date night. I loved the art on the walls. Service The food was served buffet styled so I really didn't get much face time with servers. When we did eventually sit the server was friendly and accommodating and made sure we got what we needed. The bartender was really great and welcoming and knew what he was doing. Very social, warm and polite - would definitely go back to just get a drink from him - always great to have good energy bartenders. Food and Drinks The food was wonderful. Everything was delicious and tasty. I wont name everything here but go look at my pictures and just know that everything I've posted was great. From the pasta to the salmon to the asparagus - all good! lol I was pleasantly surprised. Overall Loved the ambiance and the food and I will definitely stop by whenever I make a trip back to aspen.
Do not spend the money.
The patio was beautiful, and we had a gorgeous view of the mountainsโฆbut it wasnโt worth it. It was EXTREMELY expensive and the food was not very good and small portions. Considerably more expensive than the rest of Aspen. The service was mediocre and nothing special. I would definitely never come back hereโฆ.even as alluring as the patio is in the sunshine.
Better places to eat in Aspen.
It has been less than a week when we ate here. The food was not memorable, as I don't remember what I had. It is too pricy, even for Aspen. We were walking by one night and looked at the menu. The maรฎtre de told us they were probably sold out for the next evening, Friday. We went to the hostess stand and she said she could fit us in. I looked at OpenTable when we got back to our hotel and found lots of openings for dinner all weekend. When we arrived for dinner Friday night, the maรฎtre de remembered us, but he had a heavy Italian accent and the night before he spoke perfect English. Not sure why he felt he had to do this, but we found the same fake accents at a local German/Swiss restaurant.
Always a bit of a disappointment - do not recommend!
I want to love Casa Tua. Itโs a picturesque restaurant near the base of Aspen Mountain with a beautiful deck area. The issue is each time Iโve been there (been coming to Aspen several times over the past 8 years) I am met with pretentious servers who are full of themselves and food that is just ok. I brought a group of 5 girls to Casa Tua on Friday night and was very disappointed with the overall experience. We ordered a couple appetizers (that were very small in size) and wanted to order one pasta dish for the table before our main courses arrived. Our waiter was quiet and we couldnโt quite understand what he was saying. When my friend asked him Questions he dismissed her and then she was afraid to ask more questions - not 5 star service for 5 star prices. He instead brought us two pasta dishes when we only wanted a bite each. This was annoying to us. Then our mains came out. I got veal scallopine and this was by far the most disappointing scallopine I have ever had in my life. It lacked flavor completely. I eat veal scallopine in Seattle at the high end restaurant Carmineโs regularly and Casa Tuaโs was like eating at a Chileโs in comparison. This was the last chance I will give Casa Tua. It always leaves us a little disappointed. I do not recommend it.
Excellent meal and service!
Service and food were both excellent. I started with a half dozen oysters followed by lamb chops with carrots and spinach and added a side of roasted herb potatoes. Finished the meal with tiramisu and cappuccino. Everything was well prepared and delicious!
Hands down best dinner in Aspen! The service is top tier
Hands down best dinner in Aspen! The service is top tier and the ambiance and quiet and chic.
This place is WAY WAY overrated and overpriced.
The fondue with crispy bread was OK. The $160 fish cooked in salt for some damn reason was absolutely tasteless. Then there was the veal which honestly tasted rubbery. Give me a break. I honestly don't mind paying exorbitant prices as long as I can walk away feeling not ripped off. Ambience was good but who cares with terrible food. Take my advise and get comparable food at your local Casa Olivo Gardino. Lol.

Manager working there, with a mustache, is rude and unaccommodating. Put us at a table at the end of the restaurant and claimed all other tables were going to be occupied - which was a complete lie. Food is also subpar.
We had an amazing experience at Casa Tua! The fettuccine
We had an amazing experience at Casa Tua! The fettuccine has to be one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. We also had a delicious NY Strip Steak with chimichuri sauce I forgot to capture. The waiters and manager were very attentive and made sure we had a great experience. The ambiance and setting was an additional bonus that made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend visiting when in Aspen!
Spectacular and Memorable Dining Experience
We revisited Casa Tua in Aspen this evening with our family. In a word, it was extraordinary! The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely wonderful. The space was also beautiful and very comfortable. Thank you for taking such good care of us and for enabling a perfect evening.

In a word, it was extraordinary! The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely wonderful. While every item was delicious, do not miss their amazing Branzino! The space was also beautiful and very comfortable. Thank you to Casa Tua and your wonderful chefs and staff for taking such good care of us and for enabling a perfect evening.
I'm surprised to see so many poor reviews for Casa Tua!
I'm surprised to see so many poor reviews for Casa Tua! Perhaps the lunch and dinner service differ? I had a wonderful experience at Casa Tua for dinner. Miky's salad was the perfect yet complex arugula salad. The bread was great, especially the breadsticks. My bolognese was phenomenal -- rich yet not too filling. While I left some restaurants in Aspen feeling overly stuffed, the food at casa tua was satisfying yet not too rich. The homemade sorbet with a glass of amaro was a great way to end the meal!I will note that our waitress did miss a couple of items we ordered (extra app and extra dessert). English didn't seem to be her first language. Since the food we did get was so good, we were perfectly happy to forgo those supplemental dishes.

We stopped here for lunch just before our flight out of Aspen and it was everything I was hoping for. The restaurant was lived up to its name, well designed and made you feel at home once inside. The service was impeccable and super attentive. We were in a rush and the food came out in perfect timing. I started with a minestrone soup and it was so tasty. For my main I opted for miky's salad and side salmon because I didn't want to feel too full with a full travel day ahead. It was the perfect way to end my stay in Aspen. My brother got the burger and my bf got the Cacio e Pepe with lamb and loved if. We will definitely be back next year for dinner service when we are back in Aspen.
Casa Tua
Reserve early. We repeated our experience from the year before and had two evenings experience within our 7 day stay. Delicious. High end service. A hot restaurant to say the least. Going back in March!!
Last night we dined at Casa Tua.
The food was good, but what stood out was the professionalism of the staff. It's a bit crowded and I counted four servers, a bartender, a sommelier and manager working my part of the floor. A bit of soup accidentally spilled on a ladies coat and the servers were quick to help her. Unfortunately, what was obviously an innocent accident due to the crowded area became a spectacle as the expressed sympathy for the lady's coat fed her predatory instinct and she was berating all the staff that were trying earnestly to assist her. I couldn't hear all she said but she ranted about a $2k sweater and x thousand dollar coat. Her behavior turned from reasonable to unreasonable faster than I would expect. The management was excellent and the staff were amazing. I wanted to comment while I was there, but opted not to. Anyway, the staff and management gave a clinic on managing a small mishap while the lady turned molehills into mountains.
AVOID THIS PLACE. THEY MANIPULATED MY TIP!
Long story short, this restaurant (or its particular staff members) changed my written tip amount to charge a higher total amount to your credit card company. I was at the restaurant week on 10/9/22 with a friend (Table 1/1, receipt stamp time 7:52pm - I have server name too). We arrived late that night in Aspen and wanted to dine near our hotel - without reservation, we got seated at a 2-person table near the entrance. We happily shared a few dishes and wine, and come late October I was fondly thinking back to the trip. THEN, I saw my card bill and realized they sneakily changed my tip amount. The original total bill, inclusive of the tip that I wrote down, was $273.11. The charge I saw on my bill was $283.14. I had a photo taken of my receipt at the time (with tip) and was doing a thorough read of the card bill to discover this, but it was small enough a tweak that I wouldnโt have noticed otherwise. Given they changed this ever so slightly that itโs not noticeable, Iโm thinking there might be more unknowing victims. They didnโt even pick up the call when I called. It might be one waiting staff that went rogue โ but if you must visit, Iโd be very careful and keep photo proofs of your final receipts.

A must try for great food and ambience
The ambience is classy and cozy. Impeccable service and good delicious! Only hiccup -> if youโre tall, the tables are a bit short and thereโs a lip at the bottom of table which makes it difficult to sit with legs under the table. Food, decor, and service makes up for it!
We thought the food was average at best.
We had to ask for a bread basket and it took at least 20 minutes to receive food. We were charged for a bottle of water, but the bottle wasn't left on the table. We each had a half a glass of water, and it costed $9. The best thing I can say is the bathroom was clean.
