Carnevor Milwaukee Reviews
Great Service, Loud Environment
The service was impeccable and the food worth every dime. I was there for a 5 pm Wednesday dinner and was very surprised at how crowded and loud the restaurant was...good for them but not for me. I choose to dine early to avoid the madness of a typical Friday/Saturday night dinner. I would however return to try others items on the menu.

Delicious! Delicious! Yes, it comes with a huge price tag but was it worth it. We enjoyed every bite. Service was great. Friendly staff, gave us tons of time to ourselves and checked in appropriately. Hard to choose from menu cause everything looked good. Tried bits and pieces things between the 2 of us. Couldn't find anything we disliked that we ordered except the free anniversary dessert was lackluster, but then again, it was free. We absolutely will be back and highly recommend. Again, the price is very spendy but well worth it for a special occasion! Happy eating!
Glad we chose Carnevor in downtown Milwaukee for dinner!
Glad we chose Carnevor in downtown Milwaukee for dinner! Enjoyed nice Freemark Abbey decanted wine and a fabulous meal. The 16oz bone-in filet Oscar style was excellent! The service of the entire team and our waiter, Eric, was outstanding!

Pros: Location Most food options Attentiveness of the support staff Clean Cons: Gluten free options: they can "make anything gluten free" which basically means they remove food from the order. No GF bread, crackers, pasta, etc Server was ok. End of meal, didn't see him for 15 minutes. He came back with the check and never asked if we wanted dessert. Reservations, ha. We arrived on time and no table. Stood around to wait. Ambiance was very loud and apparently it's a place where people can wear sleep attire which makes it very unromantic for those dressing up. Hard to blame them but it is the environment. Steak was overly salty and I like salt. Chairs were like those you stack up from church or school. We won't be back but that doesn't mean it's a bad place. Just not for us.
Heavenly meal, perfect service & wonderful ambience.
Celebrated 25 yr. wedding anniversary. Staff was wonderful and tasteful in acknowledging our event. Even ran into Milwaukee Brewer Christian Yelich who graciously took a picture w/my wife. Immediately shared it w/my son who's a fan and attending school in AZ. Intend to celebrate there next yr.

Overall I thought the service was good but the food and drinks seemed a little overpriced compared to other steakhouses that we've been to that had better service. We ordered the Wagyu Brisket for an appetizer which was good but definitely not worth the price. I ordered a filet mignon with truffle butter - unfortunately, it came plain and was way too salty for me. My husband ordered the Ribeye with blue cheese and he liked it. The truffle frites were phenomenal.

We visited Carnevor for a birthday celebration and were not disappointed. The ambiance is dark and somewhat mysterious which we liked. Our server was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and he took the time to throughly review the menu with us. He also explained their aging process and the result was fantastic. We both enjoyed filets with sautéed brussel sprouts. Definitely recommend the stuffed olives with a cocktail too!
Best stop in MKE
We had a group of six for dinner and were not disappointed. The food was amazing, and the service was nothing short of fantastic. I would definitely suggest vising this restaurant for your next special night out!!

Carnevor was a great hidden gem! We started with the filet risotto and it was absolutely divine. I ordered the 5oz filet plate and it melted in my mouth- it was so tender. Our server was attentive and gave great recommendations for each course of the meal. If you're looking for a fancy date night- this a spot to check out!
5 of us dined on Saturday night.
Two of us had Filets that were over-cooked, 2 steaks were fine, and the seafood entree was good. Granted, even at over-cooked they still tasted good. Our food was delivered by food runners to make sure it was hot, but our server didn't do her check back for a a little bit of time so by the time she asked how everything was, we said it was fine. Great dessert ($16).
I had been wanting to try this steakhouse for years now.
I was completely disappointed with the service and the sides 3 out of the 5 dishes were not edible, not even my son ate them. He eats anything especially when it's Mac and cheese, how can Mac and cheese be so gross and the "mini stuffed potatoes" gross! Lovely mushrooms and asparagus though. The steaks were cooked great, we took 3 out of the 4 home though. The king crab legs were delicious except the butter needed more salt. Eric the waiter was slow, forgot my dads drink, than lied that the bar was busy, when it wasn't, he also treated my dad with no class. Bumped me while placing the knives down, and acted like nothing happened, also would lean on me without saying excuse me, and would slam the drinks down on the table when he was dropping them off, he never bothered to clean the messy table/ crumbs from the bread that were all over from my 9yr old... FYI Carnevor: The Spanish speaking staff kept bothering our table because they heard me speaking Spanish to my dad. We didn't go there to make friends or be constantly bothered, we just went to have a great night and have our own discussions and be SERVED, not have to constantly change the subject to whatever the bus boy wanted to know about us or my dad. I get it, what I thought would be an elegant dinner turned out to be like a trip to Applebees. If you come ask me if I want bread in Spanish, and I say no, don't ask me, "Oh No???" am I supposed to say no twice? Train your staff better maybe Eric needs to understand his place as a server, and not act like patrons like us should put up with being bumped or touched, or treated any differently, or let people keep bothering us at our table. Also we don't eat on dirty tables at my house Eric so we didn't appreciate doing it at Carnevor. Maybe we didn't meet your expectations as patrons. Point taken. Therefore if your looking for a place where your money will be well spent, elegant atmosphere, clean table to eat on, with great service, and you feel like the VIP that you are when spending hundreds of dollars on a dinner, go somewhere else. I was thinking this place would be comparable to Eddie Martinis, don't waste your money here. The atmosphere is loud, loud music playing, and winter breeze is constant due to the positioning of the door and your table. Needless to say will never spend money here ever again and wanted to let everyone else know how overrated this place is, not at all what you expect a place with these prices to be, was completely embarrassed with my dad and the treatment we got from everyone especially our waiter/ server.
Everything about this restaurant is impeccable.
This is the apex of dining. Best restaurant in Milwaukee and it's not close

4.5 stars mainly due to the steaks being overly salted, at least for my taste. Bone marrow was fantastic. Octopus solid. Truffle risotto was great. Brussell sprouts were a bit on the soggy side. The steaks. I ordered the 20oz bone in ribeye. I'm a bit more salt adverse, however I can still handle salty foods. However, my steak and the steaks that I tried from my fellow diners were salty to the point that I couldn't finish my steak. Besides the saltiness the steaks were cooked perfectly, the bone in ribeye was trimmed beautifully. The bone in filet was one of the best filets I've ever had. And the Australian wagyu strip is an experience. I do feel that a 14oz wagyu strip steak is a bit much for me. With wagyu being so rich, I'd prefer a smaller cut. Crescent bread pudding was a fantastic finisher along with a Kopke 87 digestive.

Table wasn’t ready until 10 mins after reservation. Not a lot of diversity like capital grille. Service was ok food was good. I was told this was better than capital grille and overall it wasn’t even close to the great service we receive at capital grille.
Loved it!!!
Incredible atmosphere and wonderful food! We had the oysters, ribeye, lobster tails, mac and cheese with lobster, and blood orange sorbet and all were done to perfection. They have the best dirty martini that we have ever had and the Manhattan was excellent. The restaurant is truly beautiful, warm, and inviting and the service is excellent. Our server Michael made great recommendations.
